The Legal & Tax (L&T) Domain Lead oversees the entire lifecycle of all applications within the L&T finance domain across the Americas geography — from concept to retirement — including ideation, framing, delivery, and operational running, in alignment with the SDM organization. The L&T Domain Lead leads a team of Project Managers, Tech Experts and Business Analysts; and proactively manages relationships with internal business clients, ensuring alignment between IT capabilities and Finance and Legal strategic objectives.
The L&T domain covers end-to-end tax compliance, contract management, and e-signature processes across the Americas.
Business Domain Scope
The L&T Domain Lead is responsible for the following finance sub-domains:
- Tax Calculation — Corporate and indirect tax computation, including income tax, VAT, and local tax obligations
- Compliance with Tax Regulations — Electronic invoicing, fiscal reporting, and statutory compliance across all Americas geographies
- Contract Management — End-to-end contract lifecycle management for procurement, legal, and commercial agreements
- e-Signature — Digital signature solutions governance, workflow integration, and legal validity assurance across the region
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder & People Responsibilities
- Liaise with business partners and BRM to coordinate application lifecycle and project alignment across L&T finance and legal processes
- Lead and develop a team of 3 direct reports, fostering collaboration, accountability, and alignment with domain goals across tax, legal, and compliance sub-functions
- Coordinate with the Domain Architect and Solution Expert for design, delivery, and quality assurance of L&T solutions
- Manage internal and external human resources (including a team of 4 contractors) with the support of local HR
IT Functional Responsibilities
- Oversee the full L&T application portfolio lifecycle and global service delivery across the Americas zone — managing a budget of $3,290,888
- Execute IT strategy, vision, roadmaps, and policies, including security and quality standards, for the L&T domain
- Drive continuous service improvements and manage vendor contracts across technical, business, and legal dimensions — including specialized tax software providers (CorpTax, Sovos, Mastersaf) and legal platform vendors
- Monitor regulatory changes across all Americas jurisdictions and proactively adapt the application portfolio to ensure ongoing fiscal and legal compliance
- Potentially act as SDM for L&T applications not covered under transversal SDM scope
Budget Responsibilities
- Translate strategic IT plans into operational L&T domain budgets (financial, human, and material resources), managing a budget of $3,290,888
- Contribute to defining the global BUILD budget by identifying investment needs for the Americas geography and L&T domain
- Manage the RUN budget assigned to the domain, even when partially owned by SDM
- Oversee KPI, SLA, and performance monitoring for full financial accountability
Strategic & Global Platform Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Central L&T Domain Lead, providing zonal leadership, steering, and local regulatory context
- Ensure alignment across domain organization, application lifecycle, architecture, budget, and business relationships
- Oversee application portfolio lifecycle and global service delivery for the entire L&T scope
Key Characteristics & Success Profile - The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates:
- Strong Tax & Legal IT Expertise — Deep understanding of tax compliance processes, electronic invoicing regulations, and legal contract management in a multinational environment, particularly across the Americas
- Regulatory Landscape Knowledge — Familiarity with local fiscal and legal compliance requirements across the US, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Canada, and Colombia
- Technology Leadership — Proven ability to manage a large, highly diverse portfolio of 22+ zonal applications and 14 central platforms spanning tax, legal, and e-signature domains
- Stakeholder Management — Ability to build trusted relationships with senior Finance and Legal leaders (VP, Director level) across North America and LATAM
- Team Leadership — Experience managing cross-functional teams, including contractors, in a matrixed organization
- Global Mindset — Capacity to work across Central and Zonal teams, balancing global legal standards with local regulatory and fiscal requirements
- Budget Accountability — Track record of managing large operational IT budgets (>$3M) with rigor and transparency
- Innovation Drive — Proactive identification of opportunities in tax automation, AI-assisted contract management, and digital compliance
