L’Oreal International Distribution (LID) South Asia is looking for a Business Planner to be the strategic engine behind our commercial growth. Your mission is to transform distributor data into a competitive advantage. You will lead the sales planning cycle, ensuring that our commercial decisions, from sell-in targets to promotional investments are backed by robust sell-out insights and inventory health analysis.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Strategic Sales planning and forecasting
- Lead the collaborative forecasting process with distributors, aligning their sell-out projections with LID’s sell-in targets.
- Monitor monthly sales performance (Sell-in vs. Sell-out) and provide "early warning" alerts on performance gaps.
- Analyze historical trends and seasonal cycles to optimize stock levels and prevent Out-of-Stock (OOS) or overstock situations.
- Own distributor performance management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for distributors regarding data transparency and commercial reporting.
- Design and manage "Distributor Scorecards" to track KPIs such as market share, stock turn, and promotional ROI.
- Conduct deep-dive business reviews with partners to identify growth opportunities in specific channels or categories.
- Craft Commercial Insights and Actionable Analytics from raw data;
- Translate data from the Distributor Automated Systems into clear commercial stories for the South Asia leadership team.
- Analyze the effectiveness of trade marketing activities and promotions to recommend optimizations for future spend.
- Identify white-space opportunities by analyzing regional market trends and competitor movements.
- Ensure data governance for business growth by;
- Ensure that distributors provide timely and accurate data uploads, acting as a business auditor for data quality.
- Collaborate with the global LID data team to ensure that local reporting tools (Power BI) are tailored to the specific commercial needs of the South Asia markets.
- Simplify complex data structures into user-friendly dashboards that Sales Managers can use "on the go."
We Are Looking For
We are seeking an agile, analytical and entrepreneurial candidate with strong business acumen and a commercial mindset. You would be a collaborative and adaptive team player, ready to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural environment. You are a good fit if you have:
- At least 3-5 years in Business Analysis, Sales Operations, or Demand Planning, ideally within FMCG or Beauty.
- Demonstrated commercial mindset: You understand the relationship between inventory, sell-out, and P&L. You don't just report numbers; you explain what they mean for the business.
- Due to the varied nuances required, prior experience working with external partners or distributors would be highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel: Expert in modeling sales scenarios and pivot-table analysis.
- Power BI: Ability to navigate and customize dashboards for business presentations (User/Creator level, not Developer level).
- SAP/ERP: Familiarity with SAP from a business-user perspective (order management, stock tracking).
- Influencing Skills, proven ability to discern and challenge discrepancies in commercial data and drive data transparency.
- Strong storytelling skills—the ability to turn a spreadsheet into a compelling business case.
- Comfortable working across the diverse multi-market environment of South Asia.
