What You Will Do:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving top-line revenue for PPD brands by increasing sales and market penetration within SalonCentric retail stores across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. In partnership with the Director of Business Development, the SBDM will execute strategic plans aligned with brand goals, develop strong partnerships with SalonCentric leadership and store teams, and foster collaboration across education, marketing, and sales support functions.
The SBDM will be accountable for driving in-store brand activations, launches, education initiatives, and cross-channel alignment. Success in this role will be driven by strong communication, data-driven business planning, and a passion for the professional beauty industry. The selected candidate must reside in Central Florida.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SalonCentric store leadership, internal PPD teams, and brand partners
- Collaborate with Director of Business Development on regional sales strategies and long-term growth planning
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Education, L&D, Omni BOLD, Marketing) to execute in-store initiatives
- Lead purposeful store visits to support business development, education, merchandising, and execution
- Drive accountability in-store through performance metrics, education compliance, and sales targets
- Develop and manage regional T&E budgets and incentive forecasting
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends to inform business strategy
- Travel up to 75% within the assigned region
Key Challenges, Issues and Complexity:
- Leading business growth across a diverse territory while adapting strategies to meet localized opportunities and constraints
- Driving alignment and collaboration across multiple functions (Education, Sales, Marketing, Store Operations)
- Navigating evolving retail environments while maintaining brand integrity and consistency across stores
Organization Structure and Key Working Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Director of Business Development – East
- Regular collaboration with:
- SalonCentric Store Leadership (strategic alignment, business development)
- PPD Education and Learning Teams (in-store education and events)
- Brand teams and marketing (resource support, program launches)
- Omni BOLD and Digital Teams (alignment on omnichannel strategy)
- Internal Field Team Leaders (Street BDMs, Community Managers)
Communication will include verbal, written, and visual formats to ensure clarity and alignment.

What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in sales or business development, preferably in the beauty or retail industry
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute detailed business plans
- Passion for the professional beauty industry and stylist community
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) and work select weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in professional salon product sales or retail leadership
- Advanced understanding of in-store visual merchandising and marketing strategies
- Working knowledge of SalonCentric operations
