JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager - Direct Tax

A Day in the Life

As an Assistant Manager for Direct Tax, you will be a key player in our Corporate Finance team in Mumbai. You will be responsible for driving direct tax and transfer pricing compliances, managing assessments and litigation, and acting as a strategic business partner to ensure our financial operations are seamless and compliant.

You will be responsible for:

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Leading the preparation and     filing of tax audits, transfer pricing reports, and income tax returns,     while ensuring all TDS/TCS obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Assessments & Litigation: Managing all tax     assessments by preparing data, filing timely responses, and representing     L’Oréal before tax authorities. You will also prepare and file appeals and     brief senior counsels.
  • Financial & Business Partnership: Calculating tax provisions     for financial statements, supporting group tax reporting, and providing     expert advice on tax clauses in commercial agreements.
  • Process Excellence: Driving tax digitization     and automation projects to simplify processes, minimize risk, and ensure     adherence to Group policies.
 

We Are Looking For

You are a Chartered Accountant with a strong background in direct tax, ideally within the FMCG sector. You thrive in a dynamic environment, possess a high degree of accuracy, and have a solution-oriented mindset.

  •  You have a deep understanding of the Income-tax Act     and transfer pricing regulations.
  •  You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving     skills to navigate complex tax matters.
  •  You are a strong communicator, capable of liaising     effectively with tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  •  You have a proven ability to manage multiple     priorities and respect timelines.
  •  You demonstrate agility and adaptability, with a     proactive approach to process improvement and business partnership.
