Qualification: Masters in Analytical Chemistry with 3-5 years of experience in cosmetic product analysis

BACKGROUND: 


L’Oréal Research & Innovation is at the cutting edge of beauty, constantly exploring new territories and pushing the boundaries of science and technology. Within our analytical division, we would like to drive formulation and product development through strategic reverse-engineering analyses. Employing a multi-technique approach, you will provide key insights into formulations and materials, elucidating their functionality and performance. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking person to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in driving the implementation and delivery of innovative technology solutions that support L’Oréal’s mission to shape the future of beauty. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Product Analysis:
  • Stability studies of active ingredients in cosmetic products (skin, hair, and makeup)
  • Competitor product analysis and benchmarking
  • Confirmation of product identity
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., R&D, Marketing) to understand product performance requirements and communicate analysis results.
  • Investigative Analysis:
    • Patent infringement investigations
    • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Quality) to address investigation findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Method Development:
    • Develop and validate new analytical methods for cosmetic product analysis
    • Present new methods and validation data to relevant stakeholders (e.g., Analytical Sciences, Quality Control) to ensure adoption and implementation.

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Familiar with analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas and high-performance liquid chromatography (GC & HPLC), Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) and spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet, amongst others)
  • Interpret data and meet strict guidelines on documentation when recording data
  • Report scientific results
  • Develop techniques for the analysis of actives in cosmetic products
  • Validate methods and equipments.
  • Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Be aware of, and keep up to date with, health and safety issues

 

 

  • Masters in Analytical Chemistry with 3- 5 years of experience in cosmetic product analysis
