KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Leading a team of Key Account Managers with different levels of seniority
  • Full business and P&L responsibility for a portfolio of modern trade retailers
  • Owning the retailer partnership incl. joint KPIs and aligned activation calendar
  • Building the total beauty category in close partnership with retailers
  • Acceleration of sell-in, sell-out and value share
  • Retailer negotiations, data analytics and ROI tracking



Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Joint business planning and tracking
  • Building and aligning a winning strategy and annual activation calendar
  • Delivering the annual and quarterly sales, growth and market share targets
  • Define right assortment and investment strategy
  • Ensuring sufficiency and ROI of investments going into retailers
  • Regular tracking and data analysing of progress and sufficiency
  • Partnering with brand teams to ensure visibility of key products and new launches
  • Partnering with the retailer(s) on executions, big events and new ideas



TECHNICAL, PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:


  • Advanced commercial experience with South African modern trade retailers, 

- mandatory with minimum one of the major Drug retailers and 

- ideally with one of the major Ecommerce Pure Players or E-tailers

  • Strong background in the FMCG industry, preferably in beauty categories (e.g. SkinCare, Make-up, Fragrances)
  • Advanced people management experience
  • Previous experiences in Category Management, Business Development, Revenue Growth Management, Finance or Shopper / Trade Marketing are a plus.
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Proven track record to deliver results
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Sound communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels
  • Demonstrate business understanding and ability to analyse data and generate insights
  • Sales ethics and sensitivity to legal issues and competition law


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in relevant industry roles as described above
