Section 2: Job Summary
The Graphic designer is responsible for assisting the ideation, development, design and execution of all retail/stores/chains point of sale creative asset needs. The person in this role must constantly keep the customer experience as a top priority while executing the brand experience from the smallest detail to the biggest picture. They are responsible for ensuring every consumer touch point is in line with the brand charter under the direction of the Art Director and AVP – Creative Lead.
Section 3: Job Requirements
College degree (BFA, BA, or AAS) in visual arts or other creative fields preferred. High school diploma required.
3+ years of experience in branding and design with a focus on retail creative and physical spaces
3+ years creative or related field experience, preferably with beauty industry.
Design in 2D and 3D for retail environments
Assist to design and develop retail environments including signage, fixtures and wholesale pop ups
Work in close partnership with Creative team, Product Development, Retail, and Operations teams, assisting design process and understanding the brand needs
Continue to optimize, streamline, and evolve the packaging process and brand visuals through retail and wholesale
Assist in creating brand touchpoints in a physical space such as printed collateral and retail location marketing
Help with new opportunities and improvements to the consumer experience
Experience working on the entire packaging and retail development process from concept through execution, including vendor communication and management
Deep understanding of structural design, printing, materials and manufacturing process
Proven experience in creating a consistent and comprehensive brand expression across multiple retail platforms required.
Proven experience in creative design for global brands required
Ability to articulate clear business direction and strategies; to motivate and inspire creative team. Also, to liaise between different departments, participate in senior level management discussions and facilitate the creative process at all levels.
Candidate must have thorough knowledge of the creative process, including practical implementation, in order to effectively gauge workloads and deadline expectations.
Solid understanding of visual design fundamentals and how to execute them
Deep knowledge of the latest design trends
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong ability to plan and proactively anticipate project needs
Ability to work independently, problem solve and multi-task
Strong execution skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively manage relationships with diverse internal and external contacts
Excellent written/oral communication skills
Exceptional craftsmanship skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite (MAC-based)
Great typography skills
Computer literacy on Windows, iOS, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to travel domestically periodically (max. 25%).
Knowledge of the fashion and beauty business preferred
Multiple language skills are a plus.
Section 4: Judgment and Decision Making
This position requires limited supervision. An ideal candidate will work autonomously to complete projects and assignments as well as work cross functionally to achieve short and long-term brand objectives.
Section 5: Essential Physical Requirements
Office based role with long periods of sitting and computer work. Minimal physical activities, lifting up to 25lbs. required occasionally. Travel required up to 25% as well.
