What will you do? 

As an Senior Visual Merchandiser, you are expected to be an influential negotiator, strategic planner, and insightful analyst who can champion and drive the brand's vision, and further Create Beauty That Moves the World. You are expected to manage the following:

  • Visual Merchandising 
    • Maintain a portfolio of stores, including general VM standards and campaign displays
    • Work with Marketing Manager to administer the procurement, creation, installation and delivery of props for visual merchandising of all relevant stores and counters within allocated budget
    • Actively implement and participate in the development of visual merchandising concepts for Aesop Retail
    • Implement displays at relevant Aesop Singapre Stores and Department Store Counter.
    • Work collaboratively with the retail managers to ensure the presentation of stores and counters is always in line with company standards and guidelines (front and back of house spaces)
    • Mentor and actively develop the skills of VM Coordinators and Store VM Advocates through regular training and development programs, ensuring that relevant VM skills, knowledge and training is implemented.
    • Interperate and implement Global VM guidelines tailored to local marketing priorities and drive commercial success across the region.  
    • Develop a three-dimensional understanding of each space, its design principles and constraints, ensuring VM adjustments are made to create interest

 

  • Campaigns and Seasonal Displays

 

    • Prepare and implement all marketing campaigns, including large display installations, prop procurement and visual merchandising
    • Ensure that all projects are kept within budget set up by the MYSG Marketing Manager
    • Ensure main installations are activated within the week in which the marketing campaign launches or week prior
    • Carefully plan and execute campaign merchandising in each unique space, balancing the product focus with campaign navigation and visual story-telling principles 
    • Drive a commercial approach when visiting stores, ensuring stakeholder feedback and sales data is analysed in detail. Implement relevant commercial changes ensuring they meet with the Aesop aesthetic codes 
    • Establish communication with all relevant parties, including Store Managers, Retail Business Managers and Marketing Managers including clear and timely directives and feedback
    • Assist with additional projects not limited to SG (events, special projects) as required

 

  • New Store Openings
    • Ensure new stores are merchandised to company standards and as directed by the Marketing Manger / Zone / Global Visual Merchandising team.
    • Lead the store opening process for stores in the region ensuring that all opening components and VM planning is done well in advance and communicated with key stakeholders. 
    • Contribute to sourcing furniture, plants and additional items as required to style the space
    • Train retail team in VM guidelines, including but not limited to, product display, demonstration area, back of house, POS, lighting, music
    • Communication and Planning
    • Follow the SG Marketing calendar and aligne with Marketing Manager
    • Plan store visits, rollouts, activations and events well in advance ensuring all aspects of pre-planning are captured and documented well in advance. 
    • Provide the Zone / Global Visual Merchandising Manager and Marketing Manager with a VM report on a monthly basis outlining ROI of activations and overview on portfolio  
    • Clear and consice event and store opening plans are communicated clearly and meet all company deadlines and timeframes. 

 

  • Team Involvement and Support
    • Assist in maintaining harmonious workplace relationships by openly and effectively communicating with other employees
    • Ensure collaboration amongst the wider SAPMENA VM and Marketing team is maintained at all times 
    • Be an active team member by demonstrating a willingness to help and support others

  • Health and Safety

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in one of the following, visual merchandising, visual arts, interior or stage design
  • Strong attention to detail, design aesthetic and excellent organisational skills
  • Photographic skills and knowledge of elaborated photograph technics
  • Solid skillset in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong grasp of the English language 
  • Strong commercial skills that demonstrate a solid understanding of budgets, business reporting and interpretation of sales data 
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively to achieve optimal results
  • 5 – 10 years experience with three-dimensional space displays in a commercial or creative space
