A Day in the Life

As a Senior Manager, Reliability & Hard Services Project Engineering Management reporting to the Campus Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our new R&I Center. You will work closely with the Facility Management contractor, Lab managers, Demi-Grand and Pilot leadership to develop and implement strategies that maximize the value and lifespan of our critical assets as Scientific and Building equipment. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to L'Oréal's mission of creating beauty that moves the world, by ensuring our state-of-the-art facilities support groundbreaking research and innovation. You will also play a key role in supporting the Campus Manager's sustainability initiatives, contributing to the execution of a roadmap to achieve carbon, water, and waste reduction goals for R&I.

 

  • Asset Management and BMS: You will be responsible for developing and implementing processes to improve facility operations related to building management system and scientific equipment. This includes identifying critical assets, assessing performance, analyzing failure modes, and ensuring appropriate maintenance strategies are applied.
  • Project Management: You will manage Campus Capital Expenditure program, ensuring proper budget forecasting, scope definition, and integration with different teams for successful execution and implementation. You will lead projects from ideation to completion with proper documentation and training transfer to maintenance team. 
  • Continuous Improvement: You will foster a culture of equipment reliability and continuous improvement by training and mentoring team members on Lifecycle Asset Management (LCAM) practices. You will also develop digital platforms to enhance the management of the hard services department.
  • Collaboration: You will collaborate with Demi-Grand, Pilot, and equipment vendors to optimize asset performance and minimize downtime. You will also work closely with lab managers to understand their specific needs and ensure equipment reliability supports their research objectives.
  • Sustainability: You will support the Campus Manager in the execution of sustainability initiatives, contributing to the achievement of carbon, water, and waste reduction goals for R&I. This will involve identifying opportunities for improvement in energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction within facility operations.

 

We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and collaborative spirit. They are a self-starter, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

 

  • Engineering Degree: A completed Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) is required, with 7+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing setting or facility management.
  • Project Management Expertise: Strong project management skills (>10 years) are essential, including developing project plans, forecasting and tracking budgets, monitoring milestones, and effective time management. It will be critical that good practices in Executing and Project closing with all documentation are followed 
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for identifying and resolving equipment issues and optimizing asset performance.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and presentation skills are needed to articulate complex technical information to a range of audiences and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Sustainability Focus: A demonstrated commitment to sustainability principles and experience in implementing sustainability initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Building Automation Systems (BMS), CAD, MS Office Suite: Proficiency in trend analysis and reporting.  Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Power BI, and AutoCAD is required. 
  • Onsite & Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a laboratory/manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures; ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time. Must be onsite 5 days a week, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)
  • Work Authorization Requirements: Are authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future (required).

  • Base Salary Range: $107,600 - $153,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
