A Day in the Life
As a Control Laboratory Technician, you will be a guardian of our quality in the dynamic, fast-paced environment of our Piscataway, NJ manufacturing facility. Reporting to the IQ Manager, you will assist with daily lab operations, from hands-on testing and auditing to supporting supplier and subcontractor certification processes.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Driving Quality Control: Perform hands-on physical and mechanical tests on finished products and packaging components, making critical decisions to release materials or block non-conforming items.
- Championing Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance laboratory operations and workflows. You will have the opportunity to manage and contribute to continuous improvement projects from concept to completion.
- Ensuring Compliance & Traceability: Meticulously review production records and components Certificates of Analysis (COA), conduct audits, and champion Good Manufacturing and Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP) to ensure all documentation is accurate and audit-ready
- Collaborating for Excellence: Partner with production teams to investigate quality issues, using your problem-solving skills to find root causes and implement lasting solutions.

- A Proactive Mindset: A self-starter with strong project management potential who takes ownership and drives projects forward to improve efficiency and quality.
- Technical Foundations: An associate's degree in a technical discipline combined with experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Digital Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, presentations, and database management for effective data handling and reporting. Experience with SAP is a significant plus.
- Laboratory & Inspection Skills: A strong understanding of packaging inspection guidelines, physical testing (color, odor, viscosity, pH), and Quality Assurance principles. You have hands-on knowledge of metrology and inspection equipment (calipers, force gauges, scales, etc.) for mechanical inspections.
- Critical Thinking: The ability to analyze data, identify deviations, and lead root cause investigations to solve complex problems.
