What You Will Learn:
Performs defined quality control microbiological procedures. Execute daily operation which may include test/evaluation of raw materials, bulk, package components, finished goods, and special samples as required.
- Ensures compliance with current procedures (SOP, loreal documents, instructions), specifications and methods. Works in compliance with cGMP, cGDP and L’Oreal requirements
- Maintains accurate/timely records of test results and issues reports as required
- Performs and/or manages air, water, and environmental sampling
- Performs and/or manages microorganism identification on environmental, water and product isolates
- Perform or manage with outside and/or internal lab media growth promotion testing
- Participates/initiate in/complete investigations following non-conformances and may follow up with suppliers and/or unit production (UP) when applicable.
- Carries out relevant preparation, calibration and validation on reagents and/or equipment where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records on all isolates
- Trending of data for reports and investigating EM excursions including OOS results.
- Responsible for alerting senior member of management of potential problems in the areas of quality control
- May be asked to lead or participate on various quality initiatives or projects.
- Ability to lift and transport goods from one part of the facility to another.
- Managing Laboratory inventory, supplies and resources for day to day functionality.
- Develop and review procedure as needed
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Microbiology or a science degree with microbiology course work.
- Ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and FDA guidance related to manufacturing of non- sterile products is a plus
- Position requires the application of good aseptic technique
- The ability to perform investigations of contamination issues as the need arises.
- Computer skills, to include experience with spreadsheets, presentations, and database management. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Experience with SAP a plus.
- Good knowledge of cGMP/ISO requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Must wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Knowledge of and ability to use relevant laboratory tools and equipment.
- Visual/auditory acuity required to operate equipment and see/hear warning alarms.
- Must work well in a fast paced environment and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a large organization and to contribute to its success.
- Willingness to keep up-to-date with current regulation and information in order to ensure compliance and evolution is achieved.
- Ability to lift and transport goods from one part of the facility to another.
- Be flexible and able to work under pressure and meet project timelines.
