Our Safety, Regulatory, Claim & Microbiology (SRCM) team, is looking for Specialist, Regulatory Affairs Japan Market Access. This role is expected to work closely with L’Oréal Japan business team (business division and marketing) and manage Japan market regulatory activity especially product claim and scientific communication area based on Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, JCIA advertisement guideline, and L’Oréal standard.

 

As a Specialist, Regulatory Affairs Japan Market Access, your main responsibilities are as following but not limited to: 

  • Regulatory guidance for business team: provide regulatory guidance for business team to create winning product concept, evaluate regulatory risk to protect company reputation, support to finalize product concept, product claim, and advertisement communication to win in Japan market.
  • Review and Approver responsibility: After individual contributors complete Artwork, FIL, and advertisement review requested from business team, person in charge of this role have responsibility to conduct final review and approval. When conflict or challenge happens, escalate to Scientific Regulatory Affairs Director.
  • Efficiency Improvement: search opportunity to lower operational workload of Artwork, FIL, advertisement review in risk-based approach and digital transformation way, optimize operation, and initiate value-adding projects.
  • Competitor Analysis: Analyze competitor’s product claim and communication, Artwork, FIL, and advertisement from regulatory point of view. And conduct ideation where L’Oréal can make difference and obtain superiority in the Japan market and share to business team and R&I team.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business (marketing) team, operation team, R&I product development team, legal, and CMI.
  • External Stakeholder Management: join external cosmetic committee meeting and events to reflect to team strategy.
  • Regulatory Culture: design regulatory training for business team and R&I team not only to raise regulatory literacy, but also to find out collaboration opportunity.

To succeed in this position, you have : 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific or regulatory affairs field.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, claims management, and market access, ideally within the cosmetics industry in Japan.
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese cosmetic regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • A strong understanding of the product development process within an R&I environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills based on strong skill & capability of data reading and mining.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (written and spoken)
