Our Safety, Regulatory, Claim & Microbiology (SRCM) team is looking for International Claim & Market Access Manager. This role is expected to conduct risk assessment of new claim ideas and propose impactful claim collaborated with DMI and Product Development Team to maximize new and existing formula potentiality. Moreover, this role is expected to frame new ways of working in COE technology development collaborated with DA Team.

 

As an International Claim & Market Access Manager, your main responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to: 

  • Design Process of International Claim Substantiation: Design ways of working to conduct claim risk assessment based on DMI concept collaborated with Product Development Team for Shu Uemura & TAKAMI innovation and COE activities harmonizing North Asia Zone Claim Substantiation Team process.
  • Risk Assessment: Align scope of countries in new projects, and conduct claim risk assessment based on regulation in scoped countries.
  • Impactful Claim Creation: Understand clinical study results, understand formula potentiality, and propose impactful claim direction to DMI and Product Development Team.
  • Competitor Analysis: Analyze competitor’s product claim and communication in scoped countries and propose impactful claim idea to DMI and Product Development Team.
  • International Market Access: Manage 1 direct report and support local cosmetic registration in targeted countries for Shu Uemura & TAKAMI products.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with DMI, R&I Product Development, R&I DA, global & Zone & local SRCM, legal, and patent team.
  • External Stakeholder Management: join external cosmetic committee meeting and events to understand worldwide regulation and lobby.
  • Regulatory Culture: design regulatory training for DMI and key stakeholders not only to raise regulatory literacy, but also to find collaboration opportunities.

To succeed in this position, you have: 

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant scientific or regulatory affairs field.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, claims management, and market access, ideally within the cosmetics industry in Japan.
  • Process design capability from bigger picture.
  • A strong understanding of the product development process within an R&I environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills based on strong skill & capability of scientific data reading and mining.
  • In-depth knowledge of worldwide cosmetic regulation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese (written and spoken)
