Director, Pricing- Discounts, Division Specific Retailers

Reporting to the AVP, Pricing Lead

Context 

L'Oréal USA is establishing a new, multi-division Pricing organization under the North America CFO, crucial for the upcoming NEO system implementation and "The Way We Trade" initiative. This aims to significantly reduce customer disputes, enhance efficiency, and improve data quality. 

This Director role offers a unique, high-visibility opportunity to build and lead a foundational team focused on retailers primarily operating with a single L'Oréal business division . Your team will manage these types of accounts transversally across all L'Oréal's divisions, driving change and partnering across key stakeholders. You will ensure that pricing conditions align with the commercial policy of the respective divisions and act as a business-oriented partner. The scope will progressively evolve as more divisions integrate into the full S4/NEO environment.

What You Will Do

  • NEO Go-Live & Discount System Integration for Division-Specific Retailers
    • Oversee the strategic preparation and execution for the successful integration of all discount-related processes and structures within the new NEO system for retailers operating with a single L'Oréal business division.
    • Collaborate closely with the dedicated NEO project team and cross-functional partners (Finance, KAM/Sales, IT) to ensure accurate system configuration, data integrity, and a smooth transition for discount management.
    • Oversee system functionality validation, data migration, and support training initiatives.
  • Build and Lead a Division-Specific Retailers Discount Team
    • Recruit, mentor, and develop a new, business-oriented division-specific retailers discount team responsible for the end-to-end management and settlement of discounts for L'Oréal USA's retailers primarily operating with a single L'Oréal business division.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement within the team, with strong collaboration with the Director, Operational Excellence.
  • Oversee Division-Specific Retailers Discount Management & Compliance
    • Ensure the accurate application of client contracts and the quality of On/Off-Invoice pricing for division-specific retailers.
    • Serve as the primary pricing reference for L'Oréal USA's division-specific retailers, ensuring effective communication and alignment for pricing conformity and optimization.
    • Guarantee strict compliance with internal controls, regulations, and "The Way We Trade" standards, particularly regarding P&L liability.
    • Work closely with Credit and Deduction Managers to monitor aged balances, managing and justifying provisions, and locking contracts once all deductions are matched.
    • Proactively address and resolve pricing discrepancies and disputes, minimizing financial impact and strengthening customer partnerships for these retailers.
    • Manage daily relationships with key internal stakeholders across KAM/Sales, Customer Service, Controlling Commercial, Finance (including Credit and Deduction teams), and Master Data teams for Products and Clients.
  • Drive Strategic Impact & Reporting Quality
    • Be a force of proposal, ensuring conditions align with divisional commercial policy and challenging if needed.

    • Ensure high-quality G2N reporting for each Division, aligning with "The Way We Trade" principles.

What We Are Looking For

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant Master's degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, pricing, or commercial operations within a large, complex organization, with 3+ years in leading and developing teams.
  • A strategic, data-driven problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, capable of translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of G2N (Gross-to-Net) and its P&L implications.
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP systems enabling effective navigation and leverage of the system.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for complex analysis, large datasets, and dynamic reporting.
  • Expertise in commercial policy, client contract management, and business principles, ensuring pricing strategies align with objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with technical and non-technical audiences across all levels. You thrive in customer-facing environments; prior experience in Customer Service, Order-to-Cash, or Master Data Management is a plus, associated with a Finance experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, demonstrating strong organization, commitment to deadlines, and composure under pressure.
