What You Will Do:
Supports the function of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in their efforts to build the standard in making L’Oréal North America, the beauty industry, and the world more inclusive. You will work closely with Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders and executive sponsors across the North American Zone to champion their mission, amplify their voices, drive their growth, and deepen their impact. This position reports to the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDE&IO) and works in partnership with other members of the US and International Diversity, Equity & Inclusion teams, L’Oréal Business Leaders, L’Oréal North America employees and Community & NGO stakeholders. This position must maintain strict confidentiality of Department and Company information.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Data & Insights: Manage and maintain the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reporting, submission, and response to ensure compliance.
- Employee Resource Group Strategist and Management:
- Lead planning and execution of programs that equip and enable ERGs to deliver impact in strategic pillars of people, consumer, and world.
- Serve as trusted advisor and North American liaison for ERGs, ensuring ERGs have resources, information, governance, and support.
- Create strategies to strengthen employee participation and intersectional collaboration among our ERGs, and amplifying their effectiveness to lead to better outcomes.
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners to engage and support ERGs, including HR, Legal and others.
- Serve as the champion and voice of ERGs within the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team and across the company, helping to identify opportunities in which ERGs can be included and add value to initiatives.
- In collaboration with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Communications lead and Corporate Affairs & Engagement, develop communication & marketing materials for awareness campaigns, key heritage month and other events, including aggregating calendar of events and programs.
- Create and maintain clear processes, toolkits, trackers, and communication channels that support efficient and effective operations and regularly iterate on them to ensure you are a “one-stop-shop” for streamlining the work.
- Meet regularly with ERG leads and ERG members to communicate key priorities, align on progress, and build strategy.
- Manage budget allocations, process payments in collaboration with team’s 12-month intern.
- Work with 12-month intern and ERGs to measure impact of initiatives, conduct post program evaluations, and make recommendations for further improvements.
- Facilitate annual ERG leader summits, professional development opportunities, and educational workshops.
- Lead the application process, election, and onboarding of ERG leads and potential new ERGs, tracking and delivery of key projects that contribute to their success.
- Influence executive sponsors and evangelize the value of ERGs and ERG leaders to their leaders (so their efforts are accounted for in their individual goals) and key leaders across the North American Zone.
- Responsible for the application, election, and training of ERG leads, tracking and delivery of key projects that contribute to the programs’ success.
- Zoom in and zoom out, to see how all the moving parts should tie together, and systemize them into a functioning program aligned to a single set of goals.
- Be an empathetic listener to concerns raised within communities, protect accountable spaces, and provide key insights to leaders.
- External Partnership Management: Partner with Talent Acquisition and Community & Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) stakeholders in the military and disability spaces to drive engagement.
- Inclusive Sourcing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Team Lead: Partner with the Inclusive Sourcing team to strengthen economic inclusion by institutionalizing wide-ranging sourcing partnerships and enhancing programs that lead to more successful small businesses.
What We Are Looking For:
Competencies Required
- 8-10 years of applicable experience as an Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practitioner.
- Experience in setting and executing progressive people and workplace strategies, and building inclusive spaces enabling employees to do their best work.
- Ability to work independently to define and contain complex problems, prioritize effectively, and deliver quickly.
- Exceptional project/program management skills and the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive to smooth execution & continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding stakeholder management, verbal and written communication skills (research, writing, editing, presentation and speaking) with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical global, cross-functional groups; able to influence outcomes and people without reporting lines.
- High attention to detail and ability to distill complex ideas into clear guidance and communications in a diplomatic way.
- Experience managing external partnerships, including with NGO organizations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to travel across company facility locations (20%)
