Job Title: AVP – Marketing, La Roche-Posay Division: L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) Brand: La Roche-Posay US Reports To: VP, Head of Marketing Location: New York, New York
Who We Are
For more than a century, L'Oréal has devoted its energy, innovation, and scientific excellence solely to one business: Beauty. Our goal is to offer each and every person around the world the best of beauty in terms of quality, efficacy, safety, sincerity, and responsibility to satisfy all beauty needs and desires in their infinite diversity.
At L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty, our mission is to help everyone in their quest for healthy and beautiful skin. As the world leader in dermo-cosmetics, we add health to beauty. Our brand portfolio — CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Vichy, SkinCeuticals, and Skinbetter Science — offers a range of skincare and haircare products that respond to all expectations linked to beauty and skin health.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a team of 3 direct reports, setting clear performance standards and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
- Establish and direct the development and implementation of brand marketing plans and budgets to achieve category volume, value, profit, and spending objectives. Leverage in-depth knowledge of the marketing mix to develop and adjust plans in alignment with US brand strategy and in close collaboration with global brand leads (DMI).
- Define and protect the brand's visual and narrative identity through brand equity and emotional storytelling — transforming complex active ingredients and product features into benefits-driven, consumer-relevant stories. Ensure 360-degree consistency across digital, social, paid, and point-of-sale channels.
- Lead a robust franchise and product portfolio strategy focused on long-term growth and innovation. Influence the product pipeline from ideation through launch, optimizing the product portfolio to capture market share and build consumer loyalty through insight-driven go-to-market strategies.
- Oversee a $500M+ (sell-out) business, ensuring Gross, Net, and Profit targets are met. Identify gaps in budget and profit plans, assess the profitability impact of all business opportunities, and develop contingency plans to manage risk nationally.
- Translate global (DMI) brand strategy into locally relevant, market-winning execution — adapting and elevating global concepts for US market dominance.
- Determine resource allocation — financial and people — across assigned franchise(s) to optimize overall brand performance.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the trade (sell-in team) and sales leadership to translate national brand strategy into customer-specific plans, aligned with class of trade and customer objectives.
- Manage the brand's A&P expense line within the P&L in close partnership with Finance and the Head of Marketing — identifying spending opportunities and overseeing team budget requests.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and cross-functional peers to deliver brand objectives while modeling leadership behaviors across the brand team, division, and partner organizations.
- Build and communicate strategic brand plans grounded in consumer and customer insights, competitive intelligence, and an obsessive understanding of emerging cultural trends.

- Previous experience within a Direction Marketing Internationale (DMI) or global brand development hub is highly preferred — with the ability to build brand strategy at a macro scale and translate it locally.
- Proven track record of creating compelling content, directing brand aesthetic and visual assets, and delivering breakthrough, culturally resonant marketing campaigns.
- Analytical yet highly intuitive — able to leverage complex data and consumer insights to inform bold creative decisions.
- Experienced in matrixed organizational environments; skilled at managing diverse stakeholders and bridging creative development with commercial operations.
- Strong digital marketing fluency across social media, e-commerce, analytics, and online channels.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build networks, cultivate cross-functional relationships across US and DMI teams, and motivate diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage performance, develop talent, encourage diversity of thinking, and coach others toward excellence.
