A Day in the Life
As the head of Indirect Tax for L'Oréal India, you will be the strategic leader for all indirect tax and customs matters across our diverse operations. Leading a team of dedicated professionals, you will be pivotal in ensuring compliance, optimizing tax efficiency, and providing expert guidance that supports our business objectives, including our manufacturing, R&D, and new Global Capability Center (GCC) operations.
You will:
- Lead Strategic Advisory: Develop and execute comprehensive indirect tax strategies, advising the business on the implications of new initiatives and navigating changes in Indian tax legislation.
- Oversee Compliance & Operations: Ensure robust and timely compliance with all Indian GST, Customs, and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) regulations for import/export, manufacturing, and our new GCC.
- Manage Audits & Litigation: Act as the lead for all indirect tax and customs audits, assessments, and litigation with tax authorities, proactively managing risk and governance.
- Drive Team & Process Excellence: Lead and develop your team, fostering a high-performance culture while driving the digitalization and continuous improvement of tax processes and systems like SAP.
We Are Looking For
You are a great match for this role if you are a highly experienced and strategic tax leader with a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. We are looking for someone with:
- A Qualified Chartered Accountant qualification.
- Deep Technical Expertise in Indian GST, Customs laws, Foreign Trade Policy, and legacy tax matters, ideally gained in a large multinational manufacturing (FMCG/Pharma) or top consulting environment.
- Strong Leadership Skills with a track record of managing and developing a team of professionals.
- Excellent Analytical & Problem-Solving capabilities to resolve complex tax challenges.
- Exceptional Communication & Stakeholder Management skills to collaborate effectively across the business and with external authorities.
