Do you excel at building and motivating high-performing teams, ensuring brand excellence, and maintaining a strong field presence? As a Retail Manager at L’Oréal, you will play a crucial role in leading and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and maximize sell-out performance while achieving ambitious business objectives. Reporting to Group Business Manager.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Sales & Performance Management:

  • To develop the business within the responsible region to achieve retail targets, with a sharp focus on duty-free operations.
  • To allocate and drive challenging yet achievable sell-out targets across brands, individual shops, and sales advisors , rigorously tracking performance at least twice weekly.
  • Analyze key performance indicators, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies to optimize sales and maximize turnover, including detailed analysis of BA productivity and incentive results.
  • Participate in and implement L’ORÉAL Group annual plan to guarantee sell out targets and business, translating strategic brand objectives into measurable field actions.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on business opportunities by analyzing sales data and market trends, ensuring continuous improvement in sell-out results.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing team of BAs and promoters through strategic talent development.
  • Manage BA performance, including recruitment, objective setting, and overseeing training, with a strong emphasis on monthly performance analysis, feedback, and strategic reshuffling based on individual results.
  • Ensure a consistent and impactful physical presence on the field close to the teams (internal and retailers), fostering collaboration with retailer’s HR teams and a high-energy team spirit.

Develop and set up a global Sales strategy:

  • Propose, develop and implement pre-determined priorities and objectives, ensuring strategic alignment with overall business goals.
  • Implement brands’ strategies effectively in the field, contributing to a global sales strategy that enhances brand image and market competitiveness, particularly in travel retail.
  • Participate in and implement L’Oréal Group’s annual plan with HBM / RBM to guarantee sell out targets and business, with a strategic focus on optimizing assortment and pricing.

Visual Merchandising & Store Operations:

  • Maintain a visually appealing and impactful store environment that aligns with brand guidelines, optimizes the customer journey, and reflects in-depth product knowledge.
  • Guarantee successful operational implementation in the Field and guarantee brand-image, monitor shop quality and merchandising, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to marketing strategies.
  • Work with Visual & Retail Merchandisers teams for all implementations,  prepare / propose / preparefor all counter animations and promotional events 

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner effectively with area managers & retail business managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align on strategies, share best practices, and drive business growth, with a focus on a consumer-centric approach.
  • Communicate effectively with your team to cascade information, ensure alignment, and provide actionable feedback on performance metrics at least twice a week.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team to achieve shared goals, while building strong relationships with BAs and retailers.

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Proven Retail Management Experience:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing a team in a highly operational, fast-paced retail environment, preferably within the beauty industry and specifically in high-traffic or travel retail settings.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and analysis (performance, competitors / field activity), utilizing data to drive actionable insights.
  • Monitor resources allocation within the budget, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.
  • Supervise Retail implementation (projects, event…), including on-counter installations and refit projects, and action plan in the Zone, ensuring flawless execution.

Strong Business Acumen:

  • A strategic thinker with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, translating plans into successful outcomes by understanding market changes and competitive moves.
  • Solid understanding of retail metrics, sales analysis, inventory management, and profit and loss statements, with a strong ability to optimize assortments and pricing.
  • Masters brand selling scenarios, possess in-depth product assortment knowledge, and continually analyze competitor activities and pricing.

Customer-Centric Approach:

  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building lasting relationships, ensuring that decisions are always driven by consumer needs and preferences.
  • Manage intermediate agent relationships effectively, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Collects and connects comprehensive knowledge about the retailer/prescriber/Salon, understanding their unique characteristics.
  • Adapts brand distribution strategy to maximize market impact and customer engagement.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • A data-driven individual who excels at analyzing sales data, BA performance metrics, and market trends to generate insights, closely monitoring performance, and identifying solutions to optimize results and improve operational efficiency.

Results-Oriented & Adaptable:

  • Proven track record of exceeding targets, driving sales, and thriving in a dynamic, ever-changing environment like duty-free retail.
  • Follow-up and improve on sell out and results, with a resilient approach to navigating complexities and adapting quickly to new challenges.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of retail management experience, with a significant portion in a highly operational and performance-driven environment.
