At L'Oréal Operations, we create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable beauty together with our business partners by designing, developing, sourcing, manufacturing, and distributing over 6 billion products globally every year. We support over 36 brands across four L’Oréal divisions. We are consumer-oriented, and we act responsibly all along the value chain.

We are seeking a Manager for our Operations Development team in our ClarkNew Jersey Operations Hub. This role will manage package development and project management activities to assure timely and cost effective new product launches, promotions, and maintenance of basic business activities. There will be active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in effective cost reduction / harmonization programs for new or existing products. Finally, in assigned project category lead package innovation.

 

A Day in the Life: As the liaison between the Global Marketing team and Operations, you will bring products to life as a project manager by:

  • Work alongside EU counterparts to research and develop packaging components. 
  • Provide direction to test and evaluate packaging components. 
  • Meeting coordination, minutes & follow-ups 
  • Guide Marketing in new product brief creation 
  • Influencing the product conception with a focus on consumer centricity and L’Oreal group’s sustainability objectives.
  • Communication Link (between the Division & Industrial teams) 
  • Project Development Timeline preparation and tracking 
  • Manage projects through QCP (all aspects) 
  • Feasibility Costs and COG analysis 
  • Risk Analysis coordination & communication 
  • Aesthetic/Color Approvals with Marketing 
  • Value Analysis support to plant and team 
  • Research and Development coordination 
  • Manage project work as necessary or required. 
  • Interface with all manufacturing management and associated or related functional areas. 
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends within the PD discipline. 
  • Provide Development support to team members as needed on project launches; example: guidance on feasibility as they relate to aesthetic choices to assure timely cost effective launch. 
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required. 

 

We Are Looking For:

  • Education:  A completed Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline is required
  • Experience: 
    • 5-7+ years of experience in technical package/product development and project management is required 
    • Experience in cosmetics, consumer goods, or related field is preferred
  • Strong Technical Skills in Microsoft 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel to manufacturing sites in the (10-15% of the time) is required
  • Must be collaborative and able to create strong relationships with all cross-functional teams
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills to be able to influence effectively with all levels of our organization internally and externally
  • Proficient PC skills - MS Office software and capable of building presentations on Excel and/or PowerPoint.  Also Proficient in the use of MS Project. 
  • Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information. 
  • Assume Leadership role of Brand Development team and special projects as needed. 
  • Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends and technologies.
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office as this is an essential function of the position (required)
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)

  • Base Salary Range: $90,200 - $128,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
