Head of  Business Intelligence


Position in the organization:

 

In L’Oréal’s Dermatological Beauty division, within the Consumer & Market Intelligence team, reporting to the Data and Market Insights director.

 

Key responsibilities and mission :

The Head of Market & Business Intelligence BIM will be responsible for providing strong business intelligence to support LDB MANCOM decisions and strategies across brands and categories. 

To enable this, the missions are :

 

  1. STRATEGIZE : build, own and deliver a market & business intelligence roadmap to serve business stakes and opportunities 

 

- Listen and interact with senior business stakeholders (LDB Mancom and N-1)

- Develop and execute a comprehensive business intelligence roadmap aligned with LDB’s business goals and objectives.

 

  1. DELIVER with EXCELLENCE : develop complex and deep ad-hoc analysis and communicate the results through impactful outputs.
  • Create from scratch new automated tool to help decision making (in partnership with external agencies),
  • Develop, execute and promote a range of on-going business intelligence analysis, e.g. deep diving category dynamics, competitive landscape and local emerging brand,
  • Build a brief with senior stakeholders, execute & manage agencies to deliver high quality and strategic oriented Ad hoc requests,
  • Outstanding analytical skills to read the data and leverage the tools to identify winning strategy and growth opportunity for LDB. Act like a daily advisor to Mancom when it comes to market & business opportunities : support the Data & Market insights director and senior stakeholders with business insights and strategical recommendations for the Mancom.

 

 

  1. ADOPTION : Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive adoption of business intelligence solutions and promote data-driven decision-making.

 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CMI from other divisions, marketing, finance, to understand their business needs in order to provide relevant insights and analytics support,
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, translating business requirements into data-driven solutions,
  • Support the business teams in all their questions and needs on a daily basis. 

 

Required profil  : 

  • Preferably at least 5 years of experience in consultancy firms such as BCG, McKinsey, Bain. This profile has a perfect fit for several reasons : agility, strategic thinking, analytical skills, client management skills, proficiency in xls and power point, storytelling skills.
  • However we are also open to consider CMI - Business Intelligence expertise, in which case a higher level of experience is required.
  • Strong and articulated interest of the Beauty market and LDB 
  • Fluent French and English.

  3. No specific software competencies required (no computer programming needed).
