Are you a data-driven consumer insights expert with a passion for beauty and a finger on the pulse of emerging trends? L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty is seeking a strategic and influential Consumer Intelligence Manager to join our dynamic CMI team and partner with one or two of our powerhouse brands: La Roche-Posay, CeraVe, or Vichy. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in consumer understanding, data analysis, and social listening to drive brand growth and innovation within a globally recognized beauty leader.

 

About the Team:

The L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty CMI team operates as a collaborative hub, built on three interconnected pillars: Market Intelligence, Medical Intelligence, and Consumer Intelligence. We work in close partnership to fuel the division's growth and transformation. As a key member of the Consumer Intelligence team, you will be the voice of the consumer, ensuring their needs and desires are at the heart of every brand decision.

 

Your Mission:

  1. Brand Champion & Strategic Advisor: Become a trusted partner to the brand's DMI team (La Roche-Posay, CeraVe, or Vichy - to be determined), providing strategic guidance on all things consumer-related. This includes:
    • Leading the development and execution of robust consumer research plans, encompassing quantitative, qualitative, social listening, semiotic analysis, and more.
    • Optimizing marketing mix strategies based on deep consumer understanding.
    • Guiding communication development through insightful pre-tests and campaign performance analysis.
    • Proactively identifying emerging trends and consumer needs, translating them into actionable insights for product development and brand strategy.
    • Managing the annual CMI budget for your assigned brand.
    • Integrating and leveraging L'Oréal Group tools (e.g., image tracker, consumer segmentation) to enhance consumer centricity.
  2. Division Thought Leader: Contribute to division-wide initiatives, leading deep dives into transversal topics (e.g., aesthetic procedures, male target opportunities) and collaborating with other CMI pillars and L'Oréal entities. Represent the division at the group level on key consumer insights projects.
  3. Trendspotter & Insights Synthesizer: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring market trends and emerging consumer behaviors. Leverage a variety of resources, including internal data (zones, R&D, prospective), external agencies (Mintel, WGSN), and social listening tools (e.g., Talkwalker) to identify and analyze key trends, translating them into actionable insights for the division.

Your Profile:

  • Consumer-Obsessed: A deep passion for understanding consumer behavior and motivations, with a proven ability to translate insights into action.
  • Data-Driven Strategist: Strong analytical skills with experience in both traditional quantitative consumer research methodologies and data analytics, including proficiency with social listening and data visualization tools. Being fluent with data analysis, excel and data visualisation (tables into powerful graphs) is a must. 
  • Creative Thinker: A knack for innovative thinking and problem-solving, with the ability to connect the dots between data and creative brand strategies.
  • Influential Communicator: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders. Sharpness and assertiveness in communication are a must.
  • Collaborative Partner: A natural collaborator with the ability to build strong relationships across functions and geographies.
  • Global Mindset: A strong appreciation for cultural nuances and international markets, with experience working across diverse consumer segments.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or a related field. Solid experience in client-side is a plus. 
  • Language: Fluency in English is required. French is a plus, but not mandatory. Chinese would also be a plus, but not mandatory.
