Job Overview:
The AVP of Quality will oversee all quality assurance and control activities within our open manufacturing organization, focusing on external contract manufacturing operations for 30% of the zone’s manufacturing production units. This role is critical in ensuring that our external manufacturing partners adhere to our stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. The AVP of Quality will lead a team of quality professionals, working closely with 71 external subcontractors and internal departments to drive continuous improvement and maintain the integrity of our quality systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Organizational Transformation for the OMA Quality team, including the design of any new ways of working, SLAs, and KPIs to deliver the results
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Management teams, continually encouraging 100% employee engagement. This includes across country in the US and Globally in APAC
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management process and controls for external 71 contract manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment with L’Oreal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance, quality management and process expertise teams to ensure that external manufacturing partners consistently produce high-quality beauty products for 30% of the NA Zone’s manufacturing units.
  • Lead and manage the quality team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with external contract manufacturers, as well as internal teams including production, engineering, supply chain, and regulatory affairs, to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the Group’s Quality Systems and Programs within OMA, ensuring training, adherence, and accountability at all levels.
  • Participates in the recruitment and training of employees
  • Direct all IQ operations and ensure compliance to all company and governmental legal regulations, including the FDA.
  • Oversee the coordination of activities with R&I for new/changed product specifications.
  • Establish and implement quality policies and procedures that support GMPs and ensure the necessary quality standards are met for components, raw materials, and finished goods.
  • Anticipate and identify needs for new technologies, changing regulations, etc., and adapt resources and/or procedures accordingly.
  • Through management of the team, oversee the coordination of activities with current and new CMs
  • Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Develop training and train quality personnel on the use of new test methods
  • Liaise with FDA, DGO, and other government or corporate agencies for quality audits.
  • Interface with sourcing, purchasing, packaging, division, and CM for all quality related issues.
  • Oversees a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to ensure all quality processes, procedures, and requirements are met and adhered to.
  • Ensure Customer Complaints management
  • Ensure Blue Book management
  • Provide Quality Update to MANCOM and Division
  • Manage Budget
  • Support DGO/Internal audits
  • Lead the approach of continuous improvement of quality: monitoring performance, analyze quality reports, monitor the change management 

 

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in a physical science or engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Industrial Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferably the cosmetics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality & Hygiene Regulations (FDA, GMPs, GLPs).
  • Strong Computer Skills, to include experience with spreadsheets, presentation, and database management
  • Experience with SAP, Fusion and ETQ 
  • Knowledge of and ability to use relevant laboratory tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to follow procedures
  • Excellent communication and organization skills

Travel:

  • This position requires 35% travel

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:

Salary Range: $147,100 - $213,300 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
