Role Summary:
This highly strategic and influential Assistant Vice-President-level is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle management of a single, high-volume strategic brand or group of brands within L’Oréal's Professional Products Division. The role drives the overarching vision of the brand and comprehensive execution for the brand’s professional go to market strategy in the SalonCentric ecosystem, encompassing high-level strategic planning, and cultivating dominant market positioning. Strong partnership and collaboration with the SalonCentric partner is essential to the success of this role. This role will have the responsibility of developing a team og high performing contributors.
This role will architect and implement innovative strategies to achieve significant growth, market leadership, and profit maximization. Key responsibilities include leading brand launches and big bets, deep market/trend analysis, and sales projections.
This role demands an executive presence and exceptional strategic negotiation skills to influence and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional executive teams, General Managers, and Presidents of brands. The AVP will partner with the Brands and salonCentric counterpart, develop, and present comprehensive brand and merchandising strategies, acting as an invaluable strategic partner and thought leader for our brands and SalonCentric teams. A deep understanding of market dynamics and consumer insights is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Brand Development & Commercialization: Champion and present a comprehensive strategic vision for the $250M+ brand to top senior executives and cross functional business partners. Drive brand launches and big bets, conduct in-depth market analysis, and provide expert guidance on product efficacy and brand representation.
- Financial Performance & Leadership: Develop and achieve sales and profit goals through meticulous planning and sales forecasting. Own shopper investment, optimize portfolio, and aide in developing compelling promotional strategies. Sales forecasting, budget building, and weekly sales projections.
- Operational Excellence Effective inventory management through collaboration with supply chain and demand planning, drive continuous process improvement, and provide strategic feedback to field leadership.
- People Development: Develop a high performing team. Coach and manage the institution of this newly developed function.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive executive-level experience in sales, trade marketing, retail management, or strategic brand commercialization. Proven success in large-scale P&L management ($200M+ brand) and influencing at the C-suite or equivalent level. Significant experience in the beauty retail/professional salon industry is highly desirable.
- Skills & Competencies: Unmistakable Executive Presence, Exceptional Strategic Thinking, Expert Negotiation & Influencing Skills (especially with GMs/Presidents of brands and senior executives), Advanced Problem-Solving, Superior Communication & Presentation Skills, Strategic Collaboration, proficient in data storytelling and strong Financial Acumen.
