In this context, through the creation of a Green Sciences Incubator, L'Oréal R&I has developed a start-up incubation program in Green Sciences, with the ambition to:


1. Diversify its interaction models with start-ups, especially in areas not covered or less covered by its laboratories.

2. Leverage collaboration with external partners to address the growing challenges of Green Sciences.

3. Develop new ways of working to gain agility and speed with external partners.


In this regard, we are looking for an 

Advanced Research Engineer 

to reinforce the resources of the Incubator and assist in operational aspects related to new exploratory materials (e.g., Celluloses, Mycelial Materials, proteins...) and conduct bibliographic analysis of patents in new scientific territories.


Responsibilities:

- Conduct bibliographic research on new scientific territories, involving understanding, analysis, and synthesis of documents to impart knowledge to the incubator and guide its choices.

- Identify optimization levers for technologies in cosmetic applications, especially skin and hair, through bibliographic research or exchanges with internal experts.

- Target and contact experts to establish strategies for evaluating/characterizing technologies.

- Ensure good coordination between various internal and external services involved in the project.

- Manage operational points of external collaborations (manipulation plan, ordering/sending of samples, equipment management).

- Welcome and support external service providers from start-ups in internal laboratories.


Profile:

- Scientific background.

- Strong technical skills in physico-chemistry, formulation, polymers and materials, Biotech if possible.

- Good adaptability to different scientific subjects/domains.

- A strong passion for "Green Sciences."

- Solid oral and written English skills and excellent communication (preparation of presentations, meetings + reports).


12-month fixed-term contract starting from January 1, 2024.
