POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our NYX Professional Makeup team in the Consumer Products Division of L’Oreal USA.
The Senior Manager of Global Brand Marketing is a pivotal leadership position responsible for shaping, executing, and overseeing the strategic direction of our brand marketing division. This role is instrumental in enhancing our market positioning, driving consumer demand, and deepening engagement through community and culture across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic planning prowess, campaign development expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a data-driven approach to performance analysis. The Senior Marketing Manager will also assist with developmental and implementation of 360 marketing plans to support new product launches and core category growth, driven specifically by community and culture insights and trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Strategy and Development:
- Lead with a community-first approach to define and execute the overarching brand marketing strategy, encompassing brand positioning, messaging, values, and personality.
- Ensure consistency and coherence of brand identity across all consumer touchpoints.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, consumer insights, and the competitive landscape to ensure the brand's relevance and competitiveness.
- Create and implement culturally relevant initiatives to continue to enhance brand identity to keep the global community at the forefront of all touchpoints.
- Campaign Management:
- Lead the end-to-end development and execution of high-impact, multi-channel brand marketing campaigns, from initial ideation through to launch.
- Propose new and innovative campaign concepts.
- Develop comprehensive project and creative briefs that guide internal and external teams.
- Define the optimal channel mix for campaigns, which may include digital, social media, content marketing, in-app experiences, experiential events, out-of-home (OOH) advertising, and creator partnerships.
- Oversee and manage both in-house creative teams and external agency partners.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, including product marketing, growth marketing, communications, public relations, product development, sales, and creative teams.
- Ensure seamless alignment and efficient execution of marketing strategies across departments.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) rigorously.
- Leverage analytics and conduct market research to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize data-driven insights to optimize future marketing efforts and inform strategic business decisions.
- Manage marketing budgets effectively and track expenses meticulously.
- Brand Guardianship:
- Act as a steadfast custodian of the brand, upholding and maintaining brand standards across all communications.
- Ensure all brand communications are compliant with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Actively work to enhance overall brand equity.
- New Initiatives and Innovation:
- Drive innovation in campaign launch strategies, continuously exploring new and emerging marketing channels.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in culture, trends, and consumer insights to create highly resonant brand work.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations to keep senior leadership, key stakeholders, and partners informed about brand marketing updates, campaign performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship (where applicable):
- For roles with direct reports, provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for marketing specialists.
- Manage and nurture relationships with agency partners.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required. An MBA or a related Master's degree is a significant advantage.
- Experience: 6 to 8+ years of progressive professional experience in brand marketing or integrated marketing roles, with a proven track record of leadership and successful project ownership. Experience within a consumer-centered brand is highly preferred, especially building brand awareness and consideration for new and fast-growing consumer brands.
- Strategic Thinking: Possess a strong analytical mindset coupled with the ability to define a long-term brand vision, develop comprehensive strategies, and translate complex insights into clear, actionable plans.
- Campaign Management Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in leading high-visibility, multi-channel brand marketing campaigns, managing projects from conception to completion.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, including strong presentation abilities and the capacity to author strategic and persuasive creative briefs.
- Data Fluency: A data-informed mindset is critical, with proven experience using data and metrics to drive continuous improvements and optimize performance. Experience with customer segmentation and various data analysis tools is beneficial.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to excel in cross-functional collaborative environments, building strong and productive relationships with internal and external partners.
