In Settimo Torinese, Italy, is active one of the main production centers of L’Oréal Group in the world. The plant's products are distributed in 30 countries. The production site is a full expression of the industrial, social and environmental values of the Group: quality, the result of innovation and control in production, safety of the working environments, minimal impact on the environment. Between 2005 e il 2020 in terms of enviromental management, outstanding results have been reached. The site is in fact carbon neutral since 2015 and since 2018 is also a waterloop factory, that is a production site which consumes water solely as a raw material for products and not for other uses.

We Are Looking For

The Microbiology Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring the microbiological compliance of our raw materials, finished products, and production environment. Joining our bold Operations team, you will guarantee excellence by strictly following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and L’Oréal internal procedures. We are looking for a rigorous and precise professional with a solid background in microbiology and industrial laboratory management, capable of ensuring data traceability and driving continuous improvement within the quality system to shape the future of sustainable beauty.

Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Microbiological Analysis: Perform analysis on raw materials, finished products, utilities, and the environment, respecting hygiene, safety, and aseptic rules. 

• Quality Compliance: Apply current analytical procedures within the quality system, ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). 

• Traceability & Investigation: Ensure full traceability of all analyses and actively contribute to investigations in case of non-conformities or anomalies. 

• Laboratory Management: Manage stocks of reagents, consumables, and laboratory equipment, including direct coordination and orders with suppliers. 

• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in the optimization of laboratory practices and the assessment of safety risks. 

• Technical Expertise: Master microbiological techniques, specifically the Pasteur method (counting, research), Gram staining, and aseptic protocols.

Requirements

• Education: Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field. 

• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory within an industrial environment (pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food industry). 

• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of microbiological techniques and solid understanding of GMP/GLP standards. 

• Languages: Excellent knowledge of the Italian language; a good level of technical English is a plus.
