Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and analytical Manhattan WMS Key User with a specialized focus on optimizing our inbound and transversal warehouse flows. This pivotal role will serve as the primary subject matter expert for the Manhattan WMS system within receiving, putaway, inventory control, and internal material movements. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system integrity, driving efficiency, managing system changes, and spearheading continuous and performance improvement initiatives. This position requires exceptional problem-solving, communication, training, and collaboration skills, acting as a crucial link between operational teams, IT, and WMS functionalities. A minimum of 7 years of hands-on warehouse operations experience, with significant WMS proficiency, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manhattan WMS Expertise (Inbound & Transversal Flows):
- Serve as the primary functional expert for the Manhattan WMS, with a deep understanding of inbound processes (e.g., receiving, quality control, returns processing, appointment scheduling) and transversal flows (e.g., putaway, inventory control, cycle counting, slotting, replenishment, internal movements, task management).
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot WMS functionalities related to these specific areas, ensuring system accuracy, compliance, and optimal performance.
- Utilize WMS data to monitor, analyze, and optimize inventory accuracy, inbound processing times, putaway efficiency, and overall warehouse layout effectiveness.
- Act as the first point of contact for WMS-related issues in inbound and transversal operations, providing immediate support and resolution or escalating as appropriate.
2. System Change Management:
- Lead and support the implementation of WMS system enhancements, upgrades, and new functionalities relevant to inbound and transversal operations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of system changes, including requirements gathering, solution design, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Develop and execute change management plans to ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of new WMS features or processes by end-users.
3. Continuous Improvement & Performance Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and cost reduction within inbound and transversal flows, leveraging WMS capabilities.
- Design, implement, and track continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to drive measurable performance enhancements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for inbound and inventory accuracy, analyzing data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and areas for strategic improvement.
- Develop and present data-driven recommendations to management for WMS configuration changes, process adjustments, or operational best practices.
4. Problem-Solving:
- Diagnose and resolve complex operational and system-related challenges affecting inbound and transversal WMS processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Apply analytical thinking to investigate discrepancies, system errors, or process bottlenecks and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Supply Chain, Procurement) to address and solve systemic issues.
5. Training & Mentoring:
- Develop, deliver, and maintain comprehensive training programs and documentation for all WMS users, with a strong focus on inbound and transversal processes.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and support to warehouse personnel, ensuring high proficiency and consistent adherence to WMS best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Act as a resident expert, fostering a learning culture and promoting the effective utilization of the WMS across the organization.
6. Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively and concisely with all levels of the organization, translating complex technical WMS concepts into understandable language for operational teams and business requirements for IT.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Inventory Control, IT, Planning, Customer Service) and external partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of inbound and transversal WMS processes with overall business objectives.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback, define requirements, and gain consensus on WMS-related initiatives.
7. Proactivity & Operational Support:
- Demonstrate exceptional proactivity in monitoring system health, anticipating potential issues, and proposing preventative measures.
- Stay current with Manhattan WMS updates, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in warehouse management.
- Provide hands-on support during peak periods, new system rollouts, or critical operational events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, with a significant focus on inbound logistics, inventory management, and internal material flow.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience as a Key User, Super User, or System Administrator of Manhattan WMS, with demonstrable expertise in inbound, inventory, and transversal modules.
- Proven experience in system change management, including requirements gathering, UAT, deployment, and user adoption strategies.
- Strong background in continuous improvement and performance improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) with a track record of driving measurable results.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and process issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and coach diverse teams effectively.
- Highly collaborative, proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data analysis tools.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a dynamic warehouse and office environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and occasional physical demands.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as operational needs, system implementations, or urgent issues require.
- May require occasional travel for training, multi-site support, or vendor meetings.
