Job Title Director, Payroll Accounting, Tax & Support– L’Oreal Corporate Payroll

Location: Tampa FL

Reports To: AVP, Payroll

What You Will Do:

 The Director of Payroll Operations is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and management of the organization’s payroll functions. This role ensures that all employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining full compliance with local, state, and international labor laws and tax regulations. The Director will lead a high-performing team and spearhead the continuous improvement of payroll systems to enhance operational efficiency and the employee experience.

  • Define and execute the long-term payroll strategy, aligning it with global HR and Finance objectives.
  • Serve as primary contact to the finance and accounting community for all payroll related inquiries
  • Lead and mentor the payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, excellence, and professional development.
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for [Number] employees across [Countries/Regions].
  • Ensure absolute compliance with all statutory regulations, including tax filings, social security contributions, and labor law requirements.
  • Serve as the primary lead for internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all controls (such as SOX compliance) are met.
  • Maintain the integrity of payroll data and ensure strict adherence to data privacy regulations
  • Serve as point person for employment tax compliance and reporting requirements
  • Provide net cash actual information to Treasury

 

Act as first point of escalation for complex payroll inquiries, ensuring a high level of "customer service" for all employees.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree coupled with 6-8 plus years’ related experience
  • Must speak French
  • Prior management history
  • Multi-state large employer experience
  • Canada Payroll experience
  • Extensive accounting & employment tax knowledge USA and Canada
  • Proficient in MS Office applications specifically excel
  • Physical in-office presence
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced complex deadline-oriented environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
