L'Oréal's Direct Ecommerce channel is not just growing — it's transforming the way the world's leading beauty company connects with its consumers. With more than 20 brands operating across 250+ websites worldwide, this channel is a strategic powerhouse at the heart of L'Oréal's direct-to-consumer ambition.

 

To sustain and accelerate this growth, close to 300 talented engineers, architects, product managers and specialists work every day to build, operate and evolve NGLora — our proprietary Ecommerce platform — alongside its Operations (OMS) and Payment ecosystems. This global factory runs on a shared delivery model, combining the strength of our Core Global team with the agility of our regional Zones.

 

We are now looking for an exceptional leader to take the helm of this Digital Factory as Direct Ecommerce Domain Lead. This is not a traditional tech management role. You will be the face, voice, and driving force of our O+O Ecommerce team — a strategic partner to the business, a champion of innovation, and an architect of the platform's future. From steering our AI transformation to evaluating next-generation commerce platforms, you will shape decisions that impact millions of consumers globally, every single day.

What will be your day to day ? 

  • Own the Ecommerce Technology Vision. Define and drive the mid-term tech strategy for the Direct Ecommerce domain — shaping the future architecture of the platform and its core components. Play a decisive role in evaluating strategic platform scenarios, including the Salesforce Commerce Cloud vs. Shopify trajectory, with direct impact on how 20+ global brands sell online.
  • Lead the Global Ecommerce Roadmap. Build and own the yearly roadmap for the ECOM factory (NGLora and beyond), working hand-in-hand with the CDMO and the Club des 5 to ensure alignment between business ambitions and technology delivery at scale.
  • Drive Vendor Excellence. Manage a diverse ecosystem of integrators, designers, and freelancers — setting high standards of performance, accountability, and partnership to ensure delivery quality and speed.
  • Elevate the Operating Model. Continuously reshape the way Global and Zones collaborate, accelerating the transition of key build activities to internal teams and fostering a culture of ownership, efficiency, and shared excellence across all geographies.
  • Inspire and Lead a World-Class Team. Manage a highly experienced, multidisciplinary team — Product Owners, QA Engineers, Architects, DevOps, SDMs, and PMs — recognized as industry leaders in platform build and run. Your leadership will be the engine that keeps this team motivated, aligned, and performing at its best.
  • Champion Innovation. Act as the innovation catalyst for the domain — proactively identifying emerging technologies and trends (AI, agentic commerce, new UX paradigms), challenging the status quo, and empowering your team to stay consistently ahead of the competition.
  • Steward the Domain Budget. Own the financial management of the domain with rigor and strategic foresight, coordinating closely with Zone IT Leads to ensure roadmap delivery is on time, on scope, and on budget.

And what are the key technical skills in this position for you to succeed ?

  • A strong command of technology architecture, with the ability to anticipate industry trends and translate them into concrete, business-relevant platform evolutions. You can speak credibly to engineers and to executives alike.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise Ecommerce platforms, with Salesforce Commerce Cloud strongly preferred. Familiarity with CDN technologies (Cloudflare) and the broader headless/composable commerce ecosystem is a significant advantage.
  • Genuine curiosity and fluency in AI innovation — including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and the emerging agentic commerce trends shaping the next frontier of digital retail (UCP, ACP). You don't just follow trends; you help define what they mean for the business.
  • A user-centric mindset, grounded in UX/UI research principles and a proven growth orientation. You understand that great technology is only as powerful as the experience it delivers.
  • Proven leadership of hybrid, global teams — combining employees and freelancers, onshore and offshore — within complex, matrixed organizations. You are a recognized people leader who builds trust, develops talent, and gets the best out of diverse teams.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and align audiences ranging from N-1 Comex executives to hands-on technical teams. You make complexity feel simple and strategy feel energizing.
  • A track record of driving technology adoption through structured communication, change management (ADKAR), and training plans — because you know that the best platform in the world only creates value when people embrace it.
  • Full professional fluency in English is required. French is a strong asset given the France-based nature of this role.
