A Day in the Life

As the Channel Leader for the Food channel (supermarkets, hypermarkets, and hard discounters) within our Consumer Products Division, you are the chief architect and driver of our business success in this critical arena. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director in Bucharest, you will have complete ownership of the channel's strategy, roadmap, and P&L. Your mission is to steer sales, expand market share, and maximize profitability by anticipating market trends, building powerful customer partnerships, and leading a high-performing team. This role is for a true business owner who can create a medium/long-term vision and drive the transformation needed to win. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Channel Management & Transformation: Construct and own the channel's comprehensive strategy and multi-year growth roadmap (setting ambitious sales targets, defining critical KPIs, optimizing pricing structures, and developing sales plans). You will deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profitability targets (Channel Contribution) while executing tailored customer retention, growth, and acquisition strategies based on account potential.
  • Key Account & Partner Relationship Management: Build L'Oréal into the undisputed beauty partner of choice by leading major negotiations (including at regional level) and cultivating strong, multi-level relationships with key customers across their entire organization—from Buying and Logistics to Marketing and Digital teams. You will drive the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process, co-creating ambitious annual plans and championing our L’Oréal for the Future roadmap and social responsibility initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Operational Excellence: Act as the central pivot point connecting strategy to execution by actively shaping interfaces and building a strong network across all internal functions. You will leverage the Revenue Growth Management (RGM) framework to drive cost optimization, harmonize trading terms, and maximize the efficiency and impact of our point-of-sale strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a world-class commercial team. You will manage, guide, and inspire a team of dedicated professionals to achieve their goals, while taking ownership of performance management, identifying development opportunities, and implementing training programs.

We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly ambitious and commercially astute leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and a demonstrated history of driving significant business growth. You are a strategic thinker who can analyze the market, build a vision, and translate it into a concrete action plan. Your passion for results is matched by your ability to lead, influence, and build robust relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. You are comfortable with full P&L ownership and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make quick, data-driven decisions.

  • Professional Experience: A proven track record of success in Sales/Key Account Management, with significant seniority and experience in leading commercial strategy (5-10 years). Experience in complementary functions such as E-commerce, Business Development, or Marketing, and previous success in team leadership are strong assets.
  • Business & Commercial Acumen: Strong business and financial acumen with a deep understanding of the P&L, commercial KPIs, and the financial impact of initiatives across Commercial, Marketing, Supply, and the retailer's business.
  • Strategic & Analytical Power: Mastery of strategic roadmapping and business planning. Your decisions are data-driven, leveraging your ability to navigate both qualitative and quantitative analysis (including Power BI and MS Office).
  • Negotiation & Relationship Mastery: An exceptional relationship builder capable of creating and maintaining strong partnerships at all levels, excelling at engaging selling, leading complex negotiations, and executing powerful Joint Business Plans.
  • Customer & Shopper Centricity: A deep understanding of shopper behavior to drive category growth and identify new business opportunities.
  • Influential Leadership: A master of stakeholder management and influencing who can solve complex problems, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to people development.
  • Education & Languages: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a field like marketing or commerce, and fluency in both written and spoken English.
