Overview of the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Treasury Analyst to join our BEST team in KL. This role involves cash flow forecasting, budgeting, managing FX hedging process and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial stability.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Flow Forecasting – Trend/Budget and Actuals
- Prepare a robust cash flow forecast based on inputs from the Country team and integration of data from different sources at such frequencies per request. Review with the Country team and understand fully the business rationales behind various decisions.
- A monthly actual cashflow to be prepared and variance analysis performed against the trends/budget. A high level of accuracy is expected as financing needs use this as the base at different levels.
- Control the quality and consistency of actual cash receipts, payments and working capital data on a monthly basis, performing necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Review and consolidate monthly data, preparing and presenting official reports to the CFO.
- (Trend Budget): Perform similar control and analysis tasks for Systematic Risk Identification (SRI) and Budget processes.
- Adhere to KPIs related to the accuracy of monthly, SRI, and Budget data. Provide value-added analysis to support the CFO's strategic financial decisions by collaborating with multiple stakeholders to obtain business insight.
- Performing ad-hoc analyses for any deviations from expected forecasts on receipts, payment and working capital movement.
- Work closely with the Treasury Operations team and share the inputs on Cashflow trends/budgets for their preparation of 3-week cash flow forecast. Collaborative culture with Operations team is expected.
Foreign Exchange (FX) Management & Analysis
- Collect, validate, and analyze FX data for monthly closing and forecasting processes. Analyze FX impact for the month, preparing necessary accounting entries and ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Managing the overall hedging ratio and work with group on over/under hedging positions.
- Proactively identify and mitigate FX fluctuations). Support in developing and implementing hedging strategies.
- Understand the FX needs vis-à-vis cashflow forecasting to the extent synergies exist between the two.
- Further develop knowledge on the sourcing patterns by closer engagement with the Controllers in the country to improve the quality of commentary on changing FX needs or in challenging the forecasts.
- Communicate Month-end rate/Prebudget and Budget FX Rates to stakeholders.
- Analytical Enhancements - Publish and analyze FX G&L and FX forecast reports for Budget and Trend, drive FX process alignment, monitor the FX risks and FX portfolio of the entities and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to obtain business insight.
Other Analytical Task
- Forecasting and oversee the financial income and expense P&L, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all financial activities.
- Prepare regular reporting and analysis on treasury activities, including key performance indicators and risk metrics.
- Stay informed about market trends and best practices in treasury management. Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
- Dashboard development to enhance efficiency and clarity of analysis.
- Supporting projects initiated within BEST, Zone and Group.
Who we are looking for -
- 4-5 years’ experience in-depth in treasury, accounting, finance, auditing, or Business Management in a rapidly growing business
- Knowledge of treasury activities, expertise in analytical reporting. Sound knowledge of FP&A process is a plus
- Must be a very vigorous and detail-oriented team member with the ability and curiosity to deep dive and investigate complex issues, and an innovative thinker who is eager to propose improvements and work in an agile environment.
- Strong learning agility and be able to adapt with change.
- Ability to manage executive stakeholder relationships, particularly with the CFO.
- ACCA/CPA or equivalent is a plus
- English fluent
