  • And also to identify and validate the claims that will enhance the value of the group's future launches and renovations.

We work for all Cosmetics categories (skincare, makeup, hygiene, fragrance) and all the Group's brands.

Type of contract: Permanent

Location: Chevilly Larue

Within the Evaluation Intelligence department, we are looking for a Cognitive & Sensory Evaluation Study Manager.

As a strategic partner for innovation, the Cognitive & Sensory Evaluation team contributes to new product development by focusing on their sensory appeal. The department characterizes products in a holistic and objective manner (texture, appearance, scent, packaging), provides proof of performance, describes consumer perceptions, justifies sensory product claims and, ultimately, generates strategic insights.

About the role:

Reporting to the Skincare pole, you will be the guardian of sensory knowledge for our skincare innovations. You will work autonomously across the entire study lifecycle—from the initial brief to strategic recommendations—within a dynamic and international environment.

Your main responsibilities are:

Sensory Study Management:

  • Design & Steering: You define the optimal test design to meet the objectives of the formulation laboratories. You manage tests with our service providers (activity monitoring, prioritization, ad-hoc requests).
  • Analysis & Recommendations: You process data, perform analyses (both univariate and multivariate), and translate them into concrete, actionable conclusions and recommendations for R&I teams.
  • 360° Vision: You ensure the consistency of your analyses in relation to other performance indicators (expert panels, consumer tests, in vivo/vitro instrumental tests, packaging, and fragrance).

Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Insights

  • Knowledge Generation: You conduct category or market analyses using our global database (mappings, meta-analyses) to guide innovation strategies.
  • Data Hybridization: You help build bridges between sensory data and other data types (formulation, consumer evaluation, etc.) to deepen understanding and refine recommendations.

Methodological Innovation and Cross-functional Projects

  • Business Transformation: You participate in the development and deployment of new methodologies (digitalization, analytical tools) to guarantee the constant optimization of our approaches.
  • Cognitive Sciences: You contribute to complex cross-functional projects integrating Cognitive Sciences for an objective and in-depth characterization of sensory experience.
  • International Reach: You collaborate with our international hubs (USA, China, Japan, India, Brazil) to harmonize practices and lead global analyses.

Your assets for success:

  • University Master’s degree or Engineering degree (Agri-food or specialized in Sensory Analysis).
  • At least 3 years of successful experience in the field of sensory analysis. You have a perfect command of panel management and the statistical analysis of results.
  • Advanced proficiency and a strong appetite for data analysis (multivariate statistics, database management) and ease with digital tools.
  • Ability to take a step back, challenge briefs, and understand strategic business stakes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships of trust. You know how to structure and present your messages with impact during oral presentations.
  • Autonomy, rigor, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a transformation context.
  • Fluent English.
