Key Responsibilities:

As the Brand Business Lead, you will be responsible for the holistic development and execution of our brand strategy, encompassing:

  • Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Management: Champion the brand's long-term vision by defining compelling strategic directions and crafting a robust 3-year marketing plan. You will meticulously guide portfolio priorities, driving impactful new product launches, invigorating pillar products, and revitalizing the core catalogue to ensure sustained market relevance and growth.
  • Consumer & Market Acumen: Lead the charge in gathering and meticulously analyzing consumer and market insights, translating data into actionable strategies. Your acute understanding of local dynamics will inform new product development, ensure consistency with the country’s needs, and contribute to global innovation by leading comprehensive market research plans.
  • Launch Excellence & Local Relevance: Drive the successful localization of international brand launches, developing innovative and culturally resonant "angles of attack" for the South African market. You will orchestrate integrated, engaging consumer brand experiences, overseeing the entire launch lifecycle from concept to execution with unwavering attention to detail and timelines.
  • Financial Stewardship & Business Acumen: Assume full accountability for the brand's financial health, meticulously managing budgets, sales forecasts, pricing strategies, and the brand's P&L. Your strategic financial oversight will ensure sustainable profitability and robust business growth.
  • Integrated Marketing & Communication: Architect and execute holistic marketing mix strategies (IMC/360/Digital/Retail), adeptly adapting global communication assets (imagery, digital content, point-of-sale materials) to resonate deeply with the local audience. You will significantly influence media and promotion plans to maximize brand reach and impact, ensuring a cohesive and powerful brand message.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence: Act as a central orchestrator, mobilizing and inspiring cross-functional teams across sales, logistics, education, and external agency partners. You will champion a synergistic business approach, ensuring seamless execution of strategies across the value chain and fostering a culture of collective success.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Advocacy: Articulate clear, compelling narratives for senior management, preparing and coaching your teams to effectively present strategic plans and results, ensuring strong alignment and advocacy for the brand's vision.
