About L'Oréal At L'Oréal, we believe beauty is not just an industry — it is a language. As the world's #1 beauty company, present in 150 countries, we are committed to creating beauty that moves the world. If you are passionate about innovation, driven by purpose, and energized by the intersection of creativity and operations, we want to hear from you.
The Role
The AVP of Creative Operations & Production is a senior leadership role within the Creative function, reporting to the SVP of Creative. This role is responsible for building and scaling the operational infrastructure that powers our creative engine — ensuring that our teams deliver world-class work on time, on budget, and at the highest standard of quality.
As the architect of our workflows, the guardian of our budgets, and a trusted strategic partner to our Creative Directors and Marketing Leads, you will own production discipline and delivery accountability from end to end — proactively managing upstream inputs, cross-functional dependencies, and late-stage changes before they impact delivery.
What You Will Do
1. Strategic Project Management & Delivery
- Architect and oversee the master production calendar, developing end-to-end timelines from brief to delivery while holding clear accountability across marketing teams (brief quality and timeliness), creative teams (on-time development), and leadership (decision-making).
- Manage the total creative production budget with precise forecasting, tracking, and reporting — maximizing the value of every dollar spent.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks — including those upstream of creative execution such as scope changes — and implement solutions to keep teams on track without compromising quality.
2. Process Excellence & Innovation
- Establish and uphold best-in-class project management methodologies (Agile/Hybrid), streamlining the journey from ideation to execution through formal stage gates.
- Implement and manage Creative Resource Management (CRM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) tools to support scalable, efficient operations.
- Regularly audit existing workflows to eliminate redundancies and improve speed-to-market.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary bridge between Creative, Marketing (Content), and Digital teams, ensuring production execution is aligned with brand vision and business priorities.
- Manage expectations across senior leadership with transparency on resource availability and project status; act as the primary escalation point for delivery risk, timeline conflicts, and scope changes — presenting clear options and trade-offs to support informed decision-making.
4. Global Resource & Vendor Management
- Define and continuously optimize the balance between internal talent and external partners.
- Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of top-tier external partners, including production houses, directors, photographers, and post-production studios.
- Build a robust freelance talent pipeline to scale production capacity during peak periods.
5. Creative Profitability & Operational Performance
- Define and track KPIs related to creative efficiency, utilization rates, and production ROI — including on-time delivery rates, production readiness compliance, and root causes of delays.
- Lead retrospectives at the end of each project to capture learnings and implement action plans for continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to bring high-frequency production tasks in-house, reducing costs and increasing agility.
- Champion the internal creative structure as a value driver — not just a cost center — by optimizing resource allocation in service of the most impactful business priorities.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 12+ years in creative operations, production, or agency management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of video production, photography, digital content creation, and emerging AI-driven creative tools.
- Operational Track Record: Demonstrated experience managing multi-million dollar budgets and complex, global project portfolios.
Leadership: A people-first leader who can inspire creative teams while maintaining rigorous operational discipline.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate creative needs into data-driven operational strategies and measurable outcomes.
