Assistant Manager, People Development & Learning – Transitions Practice

People Development & Learning Team:

On the People Development & Learning team, we grow people to grow the business.  Our business is constantly evolving, and this team is at the heart of the transformation – providing our employees opportunities to realize their potential by developing skills of the future, and behaviors to transform the way we work. As Assistant Manager, Activator on the People Development and Learning (PDL) team, you will play a pivotal role in driving L’Oréal’s commitment to bringing development and learning opportunities to people so they can grow and get equipped with the right skills in a changing world. 

 

 

What You’ll Do:

As an Activator on the Transitions Practice, you are responsible for the management and execution of online, offline, and hybrid learning programs ranging in size from 15 to 200+ participants. You will help equip employees to rapidly adapt, develop and thrive in moments of transition (onboarding & cross-boarding, taking on new leadership roles, moving to a new métier, etc.).  

 

 

Key Job Accountabilities: 

 

Program & Project Management:

  • Oversee production & activation logistics for learning programs (calendar planning, securing venue or digital learning platforms as needed, etc.) 
  • Use Asana (project management tool) to establish and deliver against key program milestones and project timelines
  • Support ongoing vendor relationships 
  • Help maintain PDL budget (create POs, tracking costs in the budget file)

 

HR & Learner Engagement:

  • Draft employee-facing communication and work through established PDL Excellence Practice communication & calendar process to deploy
  • Collaborate with BEST on participant engagement plan and communicate directly with employees as needed to drive enrollments, share program details, and answer questions.
  • Create & oversee post-program surveys; create recaps to share with broader team & HR community 

 

 

Expertise & Experience, and Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with a large, complex organization is desired, specifically in HR / Learning or PR/Events
  • Verbal and Written Communication:  is able to communicate a message in an engaging and inspiring way (Skills:  Storytelling)
  • Project Management Expertise: is able to set goals, manage timelines across multiple simultaneous projects and execute with excellence (Skills:  Prioritization, Activation Excellence)
  • Customer Service:  Acts with the employee in mind, establishes and maintains effective relationships with employees and HR counterparts to gain their trust and respect, collects feedback from employees and HR to improve service (Skills: Stakeholder Management, Adapted Communication)
  • Collaboration: is able to engage cross functional partners to drive towards shared objectives, work closely with other Learning team members to share best practices and ensure high quality program delivery (Skills:  Influencing, Cooperation, Self-Awareness)
  • Demonstrated Technical Aptitude: proficiency in MS Office required, including PowerPoint and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.), proficiency in Success Factors tools preferred (Skills:  HR Tools & Process)

Salary range: $98K-140K
