JOB SUMMARY:
This role provides comprehensive HR support and partners with employees and business leaders supporting our retail stores and field sales teams. The Assistant HR Manager will manage a diverse range of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, recruitment support, HRIS data management, and special projects. This role will partner closely with field leadership and retail Store Managers to provide HR guidance and support. The Assistant HR Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, fostering a positive work culture, and driving employee engagement and retention. This person delivers superior customer service using a high touch approach and builds strong relationships, acting simultaneously as an employee advocate and business partner with leadership. The Assistant Manager, Human Resources plays a crucial role in talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and employee relations within the retail and sales organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employee Relations: Manage employee relations matters for retail and sales employees including but not limited to hires, terms, transfers, separations, pay changes, and other employee lifecycle changes. Prepare and manage related documentation. Address performance management issues, conduct investigations, and provide coaching and counseling to employees and managers.
- Workforce Administration: Manage job requisitions for retail and sales roles, open and close positions in the HRIS (DMS), and generate required documentation. Partner with field leadership to ensure accurate headcount management and workforce planning.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Develop and maintain job descriptions for retail and sales positions, manage I-9 verifications, create onboarding documents, and manage the offboarding process, including coordinating with BEST for terminations. Manage field employee processes, including fleet management via BEST.
- Recruitment Support: Partner with Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers to support recruitment efforts for retail store staff and field sales representatives. Participate in interviews, provide feedback, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
- HRIS Data Management: Conduct data audits, update employee information in CAROL, maintain CVs, and update organizational charts. Ensure data integrity for retail and sales personnel.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant HR regulations and company policies, specifically focusing on retail and sales environments.
- Special Projects: Responsible for HR Data Analytics and Reporting, auditing and maintenance of internal employee-facing polices (SalesForce), creation of monthly HR update presentations for Commercial, other ad hoc projects
- Other duties may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years of diverse and progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity dealing with complex business and Human Resources issues (employee relations, coaching/counseling, change management, etc.) with a focus on strategic HR planning and execution.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and requirements related to HR including, Wage and Hour, LOA’s, EEO, ADA, workers compensation and others.
- Proficient in Office 365 applications
- Experience with human resource information systems required, Experience with SuccessFactors, Avature and ADP a plus.
- Proven ability to develop strategic working relationships with leaders and act as a strategic partner on all people related decisions.
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, training, and developing individuals and teams.
- Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data management.

- Able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment throughout the day.
- Ability to use normal office equipment regularly (computer, printer etc)
- Ability to lift 10 LBS.
