We offer an opportunity to join L’Oréal Worldwide Regulatory Affairs (WRA) organization as Senior Regulatory Affairs Referent in the field of chemicals regulatory policy.

Your primary role will be to manage projects on chemicals policy. You will focus on legal and regulatory issues, with a particular emphasis on EU chemicals law: monitoring and analysing policy development and implementation; evaluating existing legislative provisions; providing advice on legal risks, strategies and other issues related to the Company’s businesses.

Located in France (Clichy), you will interact with all international, multi-disciplinary team groups across the organization.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Anticipate, track and assess the changing or emerging regulatory policy and legislation that have the potential to impact L’Oréal business

• Identify and utilize emerging intelligence information, including stakeholder mapping, KOL engagement plans and other initiatives to anticipate regulatory policy trends

• Provide timely insights into key challenges and opportunities of chemicals regulatory policy developments and develop draft position papers, briefing notes, comments

• Contribute to develop and implement strategies to mitigate business and operational risks or optimise L’Oréal engagement in key areas as required

• Advise on general chemicals law issues and provide legal and regulatory support on a wide range of issues

• Pro-actively create and maintain internal understanding of emerging regulatory policy and legislative trends and the impact of/opportunities arising from such changes

• Serve as liaison to trade associations or other influential groups

Your profile

• Required: Advanced degree in law with relevant work experience (5 to 10 years) on chemicals regulatory policy within consultancy, government, research or industry

• Relevant experience at international level related to chemicals management is an asset

• Excellent understanding of the EU chemicals legislative framework, primarily REACH and CLP with sound knowledge of the chemicals regulatory policy environment

• Broad knowledge of the EU institutions and procedures

• Good research and analytical skills, including ability to understand about complex or technical topics

• Excellent written and spoken skills in French and English, including synthesis ability to communicate accurately and persuasively about complex or technical topics

• Capable of broad thinking with the ability to comprehend the impact to business of emerging and changing legislation and to simplify legal concepts for non-legal audiences

• Strong organizational skills and time management skills with ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines

• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

• Strong leadership skills and team working skills
