In the department of Evaluation Intelligence, we are looking for a Senior manager. 

As a Senior Manager, your main responsibilities are : 
  • Strategic inputs to build project ambition and performance evaluation plans for SCALP programme and HAIR projects
  • Lead evaluation design for all innovation projects for the Hair category
  • Integrate & plan cross functional programs to deliver strong performance insights
  • Lead communication of key project performance results
  • Lead a small team of PPM within the hair métier , covering hair care , hair coloration and manageability , professional products division and SCALP programme
  • Leader & Owner for objective (measured) & subjective (perception) performance for hair category
  • For a category ensure that we know everything relevant to consumer habits, usage, needs, expectations etc – now and future. To understand the external context – market/business and competition where are we at risk of missing a trend, not being able to develop the perfect offer (working with key partners in CMI, CMO & EI).
  • For a project ensure that we know consumer targets, benchmarks, delivery KPI & KPA within the relevant target group. Ensure that we have the required consumer AND technical understanding to provide a recommendation for launch
  • Custodian (Leader) with project leaders & science leaders in ensuring the standards of understanding needed for product launches including risk assessments, performance dossiers, claims support
  • Operate a virtual team for the category with the science teams
  • Define & drive the development of new capability for the category
  • Maximized usage of budget & category related efficiency in evaluation planning. Define the most effective & efficient approaches to get the learning within projects & categories
  • Be a key decision maker (NOT to execute lab or marketing thinking)
  • Be a driver of new business opportunities
  • Contribute to Shanghai EI management committee and to the global EI hair CPL/PPM community 
  • Key partner with leader of the SCALP programme DOMAIN and the leader of Hair Development laboratory in Shanghai 
  • Key job responsibilities:
  • To be a strategic partner to Hair Métier on a global scalp program to shape strategy and project ambition
  • To define and lead evaluation plan at an international level and contribute to global evaluation architecture work
  • To partner project leaders to define project briefs, product performance pyramids, consumer targets and key competition for key technology projects
  • To propose robust evaluation plan to provide strong body of evidence for product performance in collaboration with labs, innovation direction/consumer market insights, cross functional PPE expertise teams and worldwide Category Performance Leader (CPL)/Skin Project Performance Manager (PPM) network
  • To maximize technology potential by building a worldwide evaluation plan working closely with Category Performance Leader (CPL)/ Hair PPM network
  • To synthesize and communicate key project performance as representative for Evaluation Intelligence (EI) at top management and international meetings
  • Anticipate needs and define category evaluation capability development plans working with category general managers and functional capabilities
  • Work with teams to continuously build hair category/product knowledge
  • Supervise the budget: balancing demand, business-line priorities and resources
  • Experience:
  • Several years’ experience in R&I product development focused on B to C industries, eg FMCG , including a broad range of objective/subjective evaluation and measurement , and preferably with product development experience
  • Experience of project and/or programme management
  • Good knowledge of research and development: culture, organization, and operating procedures
  • Awareness of market developments (bibliographies, benchmarking, patents, and internal presentations/technologies)
  • Ability to supervise a portfolio and manage a budget
  • Proficiency in English – written and spoken
  • Strong collaborator and team builder with a cross-discipline team
  • Experience working in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Deliver clear insights through analyzing multiple/complex data sets

To succeed in this position, you have :

  • Fluent in English

You are : 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/oral) and organizational skills
  • Strong diplomacy, influencing and leadership skills
  • An understanding of how to excite and motivate across multi-discipline, mostly importantly, with labs
  • Strong communication and analytical skills a must
  • Knowledge of innovation development, market and consumer insights, sensory & instrumental protocols
  • Knowledge and passion in cosmetic and haircare, an advantage
  • Experience in social media analytics, design thinking, visual and motion communication, and advantage
  • The ability to think and globally and with collaboration partners in project mode is essential
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the CHINA in an on-going basis
