The L’Oreal Active Cosmetics Division (ACD) is looking for a passionate, bright and energetic digital candidate to join the eBusiness team, responsible for driving sales across Amazon and other eRetail accounts.

Under eBusiness, the Search Marketing and Insights team runs Amazon Search in-house and has a granular, data-driven strategy to drive consumer-centric optimizations and uncover insights.

The Amazon Search Manager is responsible for building, monitoring and optimizing data-driven search campaigns with swift implementation within the Amazon Search UI (or Kenshoo). The role helps lead, support and execute every element of paid search activation including (but not limited to); monitoring and updating daily budgets and bids, keyword mining and implementation, A/B tests, and any other core capabilities required to efficiently maximize visibility and sales opportunity.

A unique blend of advanced analytics and advertising, this role is ideal for a data analyst, experienced with multivariate analyses for data-driven, consumer-centric search marketing strategies. The ideal candidate has experience navigating, analyzing and reporting from massive data sets, and running an Amazon business with paid search. The candidate is scrappy, a self-starter, results-driven and has demonstrated success in using analytics to drive best-in-class search strategies.

Overall Responsibilities

Advertise – Amazon Sponsored Ads

  1. Daily and weekly monitoring and analysis of all advertising campaigns including, but not limited to, revenue, campaign performance, click and conversion rates, ROI, daily ad spend, and call out issues before they arise
  2. Build or adjust campaigns in the Search UI, market/competitive research, keyword mining, tracking organic growth, and other ad-hoc tasks
  3. Support Manager with routine and ad-hoc insight generation, through data deep dives, market research, search term demand trends, site landscape, consumer patterns and other data requests
  4. Maintain search input files across ACD brands / account managers, including, but not limited to, product catalog & categorization, activity calendar, and keyword lists.
  5. Implement data-driven optimization and tracking performance change for learnings to scale and insights to share
  6. Manage budgets, monthly phasing and actualized spend to monitor pacing and ensure the aligned investment strategy is implemented

Analyze – Amazon Search Performance & Related Reports

  1. Build repeatable business processes and solutions to support data-driven search marketing strategies at scale
  2. Analyze large and complex media and product related data sets
  3. Own the run rate reporting of Search performance including Amazon and cross functional visibility to performance
  4. Provide insights from data, building or adjusting campaigns in the Search UI, market/competitive research, tracking organic growth, and other ad-hoc tasks.
  5. Aggregate data across brands & multiple different reporting systems
  6. Turn data into a story to provide scheduled updates to respective brand teams & key stakeholders on the status of the business
  7. Provide Account Managers Search results in an actionable way to drive business analysis to improve forecasting, inventory, retailer sell-in, sell-through, inventory management, and various relevant key performance metrics
  8. Update monthly Search dashboard with brands / accounts managers to capture new brand insights to driven the business and identify issues before they arise

The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow the role into:

  1. Collaborate with marketing and Amazon team to use data analysis and predictive analytics to identify solutions and white space for business growth
  2. Identify blue sky opportunities to support the strategic needs and day to day of running the Amazon business

Required Education, Experience & Competencies

  • BA/BS degree required. Preferably in Business, Analytics or quantitative degree
  • 3-5 years in a data management focused role, working on projects that have enabled them to build strong quantitative skills and business judgment (e.g., eCommerce, Operations, Sales Planning or Advanced Analytics)
  • Advanced in Excel, data analysis and visual modeling
  • Experience working with data visualization tools and creating data visualization concepts. (Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Power Bi or similar)
  • Prior experience with Amazon Premium Analytics a plus
  • Experience analyzing performance data and summarizing / communicating findings via reports and presentations
  • Communicates clearly and succinctly in both oral and written forms
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proactive and results oriented thinker who would flourish in an entrepreneurial environment where new ideas are championed
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate solid experience in pulling, mining, and synthesizing data into stories
