Shape the future of data privacy for 32 iconic brands! L'Oréal Australia and New Zealand seeks an experienced Legal Counsel – Data Privacy, Digital, IT to lead data privacy governance across our dynamic business.
Your Role:
Reporting to the General Counsel ANZ (with functional reporting to the SAPMENA Zone DPO), you'll be the go-to expert for all things data privacy. Collaborate with stakeholders, navigate evolving regulations, and ensure L'Oréal maintains its leading position. Responsibilities include:
- Leading the Data Privacy Chapter and ensuring compliance.
- Advising on data privacy, digital, and IT legal matters.
- Drafting and negotiating data, IT, and digital contracts.
- Developing and implementing data protection policies.
- Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments.
- Training colleagues on data protection best practices.
- Investigating data privacy incidents.
- Collaborating with internal teams to build compliant systems.
- Reporting to management on data protection issues and risks.
Your Profile:
- Australian law degree with unrestricted practicing certificate and relevant experience (data privacy, technology, or digital law). Consumer-facing or e-commerce experience a plus.
- Strong contract negotiation and program management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Understanding of IT and digital challenges.
