As the Director of Performance Improvement for the Piscataway, NJ manufacturing plant you will drive the implementation of sustainable performance improvement processes that lead the site to achieve excellence in Safety, Quality and Performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive implementation of new performance improvement processes and ensure their sustainability to meet plant objectives.
  • Establish performance improvement objectives to address plant and corporate strategies.
  • Ensure performance improvement processes are implemented and driven throughout the organization and its culture.
  • Coach and train employees at all levels on the new processes implemented and articulate how changes/non-changes will positively impact the company in the long term.
  • Partner with corporate operations to implement performance improvement projects/processes and influence the direction the organization in alignment with the needs of the plant.
  • Drive the steering meetings regarding performance improvement initiatives.
  • Define the implementation of strategy for the processes to be implemented.
  • Ensure that all objectives are tracked through scorecards that define the teams’ performance and are used by the team on regular basis.
  • Create appropriate leading indicators for the team that ensure understanding how they are assessed against the processes and how they can affect the results posted on the visual management boards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessment on the processes implemented.
  • Manage a team of engineering professionals to execute projects and implement new processes.

 

Educational or Certification Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering, 7 + years of process improvement experience with planning, project management, business analysis, and leadership role experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

 

Previous Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience in a process improvement or engineering leadership role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Participates in the creation of a clear vision for performance improvement.
  • Ability to travel maybe required.
  • Position will require extensive skills in process improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to understand system logic to determine true impacts on data results.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and teamwork skills required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and to work well in a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrate professional judgment and sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Expert in TPM/Lean Practices.
  • Strong PC Skills utilizing Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and related MS Office Software.
  • Strong project management skills.
