Director, Media Operations & Strategic Projects 

Reports to: SVP, Head of One Media

The One Media team is a center of excellence that works in service to the over 30 beautiful brands of L’Oreal USA (LUSA). Our mission is to ensure our brands have best in class partnerships in value, structure and ways of working with our media partners and agencies while delivering next level strategic vision. Our Head of Media Operations & Strategic Projects will enable us to execute great work in the smartest way possible. We are looking for a person with a passion for using collaboration, media and emerging technologies to deliver world-class partnerships for our brands. Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Problem-solving program and project issues; assisting teams in resolution and successfully leading large teams to develop risk mitigation plans
  • Working cross functionally with capability leads to understand business needs and helping identify and solving process needs
  • Operationalize internal and external ways of working identifying ways to be more agile  
  • Working with agencies and internal teams to establish best practice processes that meet brand business needs
  • Be an expert and leader on the One Media Team
  • Fully integrate into the L’Oreal culture and embrace the intricacies of being in service of the brands
  • Be viewed as a business partner by leaders within the organization

The details behind what you’ll do:

  • Negotiations Oversight & Delivering Tracking
    • Facilitate, track and monitor programs, activities and roadmaps and scope
    • Lead, develop, negotiate and manage first-ever JBPs (Joint Business Partnership) and first to market partnerships for LUSA, always driving for beauty exclusivity and competitive advantage
    • Continually look for LUSA level needs that can be negotiated into JBP agreements that would benefit the entire business, be brave and reach for never been done before opportunities
    • Liaise with the media partners, brands & agency teams to track the launch and measurement of these programs and their benefits
    • Develop consistent way to report back on progress and ensure full value delivery to LUSA
  • Strategic Deliverables Oversight:
    • Lead OneL’Equipe Salon Meeting Monthly (all LUSA media talent aprox. 150 ppl) driving the agenda based on information from the Petite Salon leaders, deliver follow ups and developing Agenda for OneL’Equipe + Division Presidents Meeting Quarterly, overseeing presentation materials and agenda.
    • Oversee the agencies development of the Annual Landscape presentation focused on consumer behavior and insights
    • Review annual briefing process and look for ways to streamline & improve
    • Refresh Go To Consumer framework with agency when needed and ensure adoption across organization
    • Take on oversight of ad-hoc strategic projects, coordinating teams within LUSA, Agency and outside partners as needed
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Define and adjust processes to meet project/business needs and look for ways to improve processes while coaching teams to do the same
    • Enforce team compliance to high company standards of professionalism and behavior
    • Establish relationships with sourcing team, finance team, legal team, external auditors to manage quarterly media performance audits as well as any L’Oreal led audits, developing project plans to get to solutions when needed
    • Lead agency Ways of Working, Best Practices, Annual Scoping & Staffing, Annual Agency Evaluations and Agency Top-to-Top meeting preparation
    • Ensure LUSA Media Team consistency in Top-To-Top Memos, media partner presentations, etc. Set timing & schedule of meetings and ensure correct invite lists
    • Partner with Learning Team to develop LUSA talent and ensure upskilling

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

  • Bachelors degree with 6 - 10 years of Project Management, Marketing, Media Agency or related experience
  • Mastery of large-level projects and programs
  • PMP and/or CSM Certification (or desire to get this)
  • Working knowledge of enterprise tools (JIRA, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Trello)
