We are the internal creative team for L’Oreal USA’s American Brands of the Professional Products Division, including Redken, Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani, Pulp Riot and L’Oreal Technique.
We are seeking a highly creative and visionary Brand Creative Director to join our team in New York City. The ideal candidate will lead the conceptual development of advertising campaigns and communication strategies, ensuring all communication aligns with the brand's tone of voice and vision. As the global creative brand lead, you will oversee the creation, concept, and execution of product launch dossiers and manage the entire photo shoot content capture process.
This position will lead a core creative team of four people including a Video Creative Director, Video Editor, Art Director, and Project Manager. This position reports to the Chief Creative Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the vision and concept for advertising campaigns and communication strategies.
- Creative Direction: In collaboration with marketing, help guide the creative direction for all visual content, ensuring it aligns with the brand's aesthetic and standards.
- Oversee the production of all visual content, including product photography, model shoots, video content, etc.
- Work with a copywriter to ensure all communication is executed in the brand tone of voice.
- Create and direct the execution of product launch dossiers, ensuring creative alignment with the core brand.
- Oversee preproduction planning, production of photo shoots with a production agency, and postproduction processes.
- Align creative departments and stakeholders with their ideas.
- Understand business objectives and client needs, adjusting projects accordingly.
- Create and enforce design and branding guidelines.
- Review and approve assets, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and creative expectation.
- Leverage storytelling to communicate your brand’s values, mission, and vision in an entertaining and compelling way.
- Problem Solving and Direction: Act as a key problem-solver when visual content is not achieving the desired impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Photography, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a creative related field.
- 10+ years of creative direction experience, preferably in the beauty or luxury goods space.
- Proven leadership experience in inspiring, developing and managing a creative team.
- Skilled at developing 360° advertising campaigns, ensuring the core conceptual thread is present across every consumer touchpoint.
- Experienced in articulating and pitching ideas through clear and dynamic presentations.
- A robust portfolio showcasing your work.
- Exceptional eye for detail, composition, and aesthetics.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality output and continuous improvement.

- Vendor and Talent Management: Manage relationships with models, hair stylists, and outside vendor partners to ensure successful shoots
