Your Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and outcome-focused Product Manager (AI/ML).  

As the Beauty Product Recommendations PM at Noli, you will: 

  • Be responsible for the heart of our personalization experience: the engine that powers our product recommendations. You will define the strategy, development, and optimization of this crucial component, directly impacting user satisfaction, conversion rates, and ultimately, Noli's success. 
  • Working closely within the Personalization pod and collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll leverage data science, user research, and a deep understanding of the beauty industry to build a world-class recommendation engine. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, product vision, and collaborative leadership.
  • Unlike the E-commerce PM (focused on platform optimization) or the broader Personalization Sr PM (focused on the overarching personalization experience), your focus is laser-sharp: create the most relevant, trustworthy, and effective recommendation engine in the beauty industry providing users recommendations they will love and purchase.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Own the Recommendation Engine Roadmap: Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in personalized beauty recommendations and explanations. Prioritize initiatives based on data analysis, business needs, and Noli's overall product strategy. Set and track KPIs to measure the engine's performance and impact on key business metrics (conversion, AOV, CLTV).
  • Build an AI-Powered Recommendation Engine: Partner with the Data Science Lead to design, implement, and optimize cutting-edge recommendation algorithms, including Gen AI technologies. Explore and integrate the latest advancements in AI and ML, incl. GenAI technologies. Continuously iterate and improve performance through rigorous A/B testing and data analysis. Ensure data quality, collaborating with data engineers on data pipelines and privacy compliance.
  • Inspire Trust & Engagement Through Explainability: Develop strategies to provide users educational content and transparent explanations of recommendations (at both routine and product levels). Collaborate with Data Science and UX to create intuitive interfaces that foster user trust and excitement.
  • Revolutionize Beauty Diagnosis: Reimagine the self-diagnosis process, transforming it from a simple questionnaire into a dynamic, interactive, and deeply informative experience to minimizing misdiagnosis. Partner with R&I teams in skincare and haircare to leverage the latest scientific discoveries and ensure diagnostic accuracy. Prioritize user education, empowering users with clear explanations of their individual needs and the science (ingredients) behind personalized recommendations.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration & Scientific Advancement: Collaborate with engineering, DS, and the broader Personalization team to ensure seamless integration and alignment. Serve as the key point of contact for R&I (Research and Innovation) and BA (Beauty Analysts) teams, pushing the boundaries of scientific accuracy and unbiased recommendations.
  • Scale the Future of Personalized Recommendations: Initially focusing on haircare and skincare, architect the recommendation engine for scalability and adaptability across all product categories as Noli grows.

 

Profile 

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic Product Manager who thrives in agile environments, prioritizes effectively, and is driven by impact. 

  • Experience & Skills
    • Proven success in leading agile teams, managing cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating closely with peers to deliver high-impact outcomes.
    • 6+ years in product management within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally in a start-up or scale-up.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
    • Proven experience with recommendation engines or similar machine learning applications. Deep understanding of recommendation algorithms.
    • Advanced data literacy, including analyzing user behavior data, conduct consumer test (quant/qual), AB test and extracting insights that guide and optimise decision-making.
    • Proven success in leading agile teams, managing cross-functional stakeholders and collaborating closely with peers to deliver high-impact outcomes.

    • Strong understanding of, and passion for: Consumer pain points and behaviours in the beauty category (skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance)
