We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Business Partner – Retail, to join our dynamic L'Oréal Luxe Human Relations team. The HRBP would play a critical role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives and fostering a positive and engaging employee experience for our Luxury retail population. This pivotal role is instrumental in supporting the end-to-end HR lifecycle, change management, and employee engagement of our vibrant retail population across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), ensuring an exceptional employee experience and contributing to the strategic success of all our luxury brands.

As a HR Business Partner (Retail), you will be the first point of contact for our retail employees, providing comprehensive HR support and guidance. You will play a crucial role in managing the full employee lifecycle for our retail employees and act as dedicated HR advisory support for our Retail & Education Managers (REMs). This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of retail environments and a passion for people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Advisory and Support: Serve as the primary HR contact for the L'Oréal Luxe retail population across ANZ, providing timely and accurate advice on a wide range of HR queries, policies, and procedures.
  • Retail Employee Experience Lifecycle Management:
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Retail Operations to support the end-to-end recruitment process for Beauty Advisors (BAs), including onboarding, induction, and probationary period management.
    • Guide and support retail managers through performance management processes, talent development, succession planning, and career progression for our retail population.
    • Manage exit processes, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition for departing BAs.
  • Headcount Management: Oversee and manage retail headcount across Australia and New Zealand, working closely with finance and retail operations to ensure optimal staffing levels and budget adherence. This includes tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Employee Case Management:
    • Provide direct HR support and guidance for the statutory retail population, ensuring compliance with all employment regulations and L'Oréal policies.
    • Indirectly support Non-Statutory retail employees, collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  • HR Business Partnering for REMs: Act as the dedicated HR Manager for our Retail Education Managers (REMs), providing strategic HR partnership, coaching, and support on all people-related matters, including performance, development, and employee relations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with key internal stakeholders, including Talent Acquisition (TA), HR Operations (HR Ops), Retail Operations, and the Commercial/Marketing Operations (CMO) team, to deliver integrated HR solutions.
    • Work cross-functionally to drive HR initiatives and projects that support the wider business objectives.
  • Employee Relations (ER) Management: Manage and advise on employee relations cases for the retail population, including disciplinary actions, grievances, conflict resolution, and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and compliance with employment law.
  • Policy & Process Adherence: Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and best practices across the retail network, contributing to a positive and compliant workplace culture.

 

Required Skills & Experience:  

  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, with strong business acumen and understanding of business operations.  Retail experience is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of HR processes, tools, and systems, including HRIS and data analysis techniques and strong legal acumen and understanding of employment law in ANZ.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.  
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and challenge conventional approaches to HR.  
  • Strong change management skills and the ability to lead through ambiguity.  
  • A passion for developing talent and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
