SalonCentric, L'Oréal's unique B2B omnichannel business, is undergoing significant growth and digital transformation. We are seeking a visionary Lead Transversal Architect to define and evolve the core IT architecture, ensuring it propels our ambitious plans for ERP transformation, geographical expansion, and next-generation omnichannel experiences.
In this pivotal role, you will be the architectural linchpin, collaborating across L'Oréal Business and IT domains, and with the SalonCentric Product Oriented Delivery (POD) team. You will design and build homogeneous, scalable solutions for critical initiatives such as Loyalty program modernization, SalonCentric.com re-platforming, Marketplace expansion, omnichannel Order Management and integrating essential systems including Franchise retail platforms and SalonCentric Canada.
We require deep expertise across IT platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud and B2B Commerce, GK POS, SAP CAR/OPP, Fluent OMS, ProcessOut, and integration platforms such as APIGEE, Google Cloud Platform, and Anaplan. You will champion compliance with L’Oréal IT standards and local privacy/security norms, documenting designs visually (diagrams) and verbally (Confluence) to ensure clarity and alignment across the IT and Business domains. Your commitment to quality will ensure delivered code meets rigorous standards and aligns with original specifications.
A critical aspect of this role involves close collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture (Architecture organization) team, contributing to and upholding enterprise standards, alongside managing operational governance processes and demand through platforms like ServiceNow.

What You Will Do:
- Strategic Architectural Leadership & Governance:
- Develop and articulate the SalonCentric business procedures and roadmap, ensuring a holistic view of integrations across the IT pillars for efficient solution building.
- Define the solution architecture and high-level technical scope for all major initiatives and be accountable for the transversal architectural decisions.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, best practices, and enterprise guidelines.
- Actively participate in the definition, implementation, and management of architectural governance processes and standards.
- Oversee the operational aspects of the architectural review board (ARB) process, ensuring solutions are reviewed, approved, and compliant with architectural principles.
- Crucially, you will engage proactively with solution architects from other domains (e.g., Retail, Digital, Data, Operations & Finance etc.) to review their architectural proposals, ensuring consistency with enterprise architectural governance, principles, and established processes.
- Manage and optimize the architectural demand management process, leveraging tools like ServiceNow to streamline requests, approvals, and portfolio tracking.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and development frameworks, including documentation and communication.
- Continuously assess impacts of long-ranging initiatives (e.g., NEO) on the current and future solutions.
- Advise on key issues and risks, escalating to the BRM and senior leadership when necessary.
- Design & Collaboration:
- Lead collaborative discussions, decision-making, and problem-solving across cross-functional teams.
- Create detailed system context, sequence, and data model diagrams to illustrate technical architecture.
- Facilitate macro-level design workshops, bringing together diverse teams.
- Drive consensus building across IT and Business stakeholders to ensure alignment on architectural direction and solutions.
- Guide business teams during discovery phases to ensure technically feasible requirements.
- Quality & Standards Assurance:
- Stimulate and ensure adherence to Agile and traditional processes and procedures.
- Proactively eliminate barriers and coach business/colleagues on SalonCentric's ways of working and best practices.
- Ensure all solutions comply with L'Oréal IT standards and local privacy/security norms.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for Design Authority, Privacy and AI reviews and secure necessary approvals.
- Validate that code delivery meets quality standards and aligns with original design specifications.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Connect with vendors and 3rd party service providers to ideate solutions and facilitate contract discussions.
- Support security and data privacy assessments for the 3rd party vendor technologies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify and quantify the business value (ROI, growth, savings) of proposed solutions.
- Actively prioritize key initiatives with stakeholders, aligning business value with IT investments.
- Assist in creating short-term vs. long-term approaches and positioning stop-gap solutions to realize immediate business benefits.
- Cross-functional Expertise:
- Take a cross-functional view of architecture, collaborating closely with application architects in respective domains (e.g., Supply Chain, Finance, Retail, Digital, B2B).
- Maintain an open mindset to learn about different pillar systems, fostering an omnichannel understanding of business processes and IT solutions.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 10 years of experience in IT architecture, with a strong focus on enterprise-level solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in leading change management initiatives within both business and IT contexts understanding their business models, challenges, and technological opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in Agile project methodologies.
- Significant expertise in at least one major enterprise "Pillar" system or domain (e.g., Point of Sale, E-commerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud or B2B Commerce, SAP, Salesforce CRM, Anaplan, Fluent OMS, or similar large-scale integration platforms).
- Technical Acumen:
- Ability to craft and communicate an IT vision and roadmap, identifying dependencies and leading IT planning processes.
- Proficiency with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and Confluence.
- Strong analytical skills, coupled with a proven ability to solve complex problems effectively.
- Extensive experience with leading E-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, etc.) and/or B2B systems.
- Deep expertise in at least one, and strong familiarity with multiple, major cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Salesforce ecosystems (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud) and their integration patterns.
- Practical experience with ServiceNow for IT demand management, service catalog, or related ITSM/ITBM modules.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation.
- Understanding of application and data security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA).
- Architecture Governance & Operational Experience:
- Proficiency in software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices (microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures).
- Architectural Governance & Operational Experience: Demonstrable experience in architectural governance, including defining processes, managing architectural reviews, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards. Proven track record in managing demand and processes within an IT Service Management (ITSM) framework, ideally with hands-on experience using ServiceNow.
- Collaboration with Enterprise Architecture: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Enterprise Architecture teams, contributing to and leveraging enterprise roadmaps and frameworks.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical).
- Demonstrated ability to lead discussions, influence stakeholders, and guide customers and 3rd party partners toward optimal solutions.
- Strong work ethic and an overall positive, proactive attitude.
- Strategic Mindset:

Additional Benefits Information As Follows:
Salary Range: $126,900-$184,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
