What You Will Learn:

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to provide Talent Center of Excellence support for Talent Management.  This position provides the opportunity to build foundational knowledge in HR and learn about the beauty industry.  This qualified individual will partner with human resources and the business across L’Oreal USA to develop and support critical capabilities that align with organizational priorities.  

 

  • Takes direct accountability for organizing Talent Management meetings with HR Business Partners and Business Leader, including scheduling, shaping agenda, coordinating content, and driving follow up actions with support from AVP 
  • Work closely with the Head of Talent on strategic people planning moments including scheduling, communication, and preparation of materials 
  • Drive accountability for Talent Management processes, like coordinating exploratory conversations and interviews, and gathering feedback.
  • Partner with Talent Development team to shape the placements for graduating Management Trainees (Seedz) and sharing insights from strategic people planning moments to enhance programs. 
  • Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to enhance L'Oréal USA's employer brand and attract diverse, high-caliber candidates that augment internal pipelines and succession plans.
  • Conducts regular data audits, and partner with HR community to update employee information in CAROL/ONEPROFILE ensuring talent data integrity for all employees 
  • Project manage short term talent initiatives that address emerging talent needs from the business and provide solutions to enhance career navigation for all. 
  • Proactively identify and communicate needs independently, sharing findings with a wider group and leveraging insights to influence strategy.
  • Identify problems and actively contribute to moderately complex process improvements.
  • Collaborate consistently with all pillars of the Talent team (Talent Development, Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding) and with key business partners. 
  • Take initiative to leverage cross functional partnerships.

 

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in human resources or related field required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven human resources experience or extensive HR internship experience during college.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication (written/verbal), negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to build strong work relationships with all levels of the organization.  Strong customer service focus.  Must display executive maturity and manage emotions during periods of ambiguity, pressure, and uncertainty.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and work independently in a fast paced and complex environment.  Resourcefulness is key.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with attention to detail, tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Sense of urgency and service orientation with high degree of flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures with a strong curiosity in HR and understanding of HR disciplines such as change management, organizational design, talent management, training design, employment law, etc.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Some experience with an HRIS tool.  
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and similar employee management software.
