A Day in the Life of Adobe Workfront Fusion Developer!

L'Oreal is deploying Adobe Workfront globally as the core platform for its Content Adaptation Factories. These factories adapt, localise, and deliver marketing assets at scale across all global markets. As a Fusion Developer, you will build and maintain the automated integration workflows that connect Workfront with the broader Content Tech ecosystem — including OpenText DAM, translation engines, and custom APIs. Your work directly impacts speed-to-market, asset quality, and operational efficiency across L'Oreal's global brands.

 

In this role, You will..

Be responsible for the following:

  • Integration Scenario Design — Architect and build robust, high-performance integration scenarios in Adobe Workfront Fusion connecting Workfront with DAM, translation/localisation engines, and custom APIs.
  • Workflow Automation — Automate complex business processes: auto-creating project structures for local adaptation based on global campaign signals, automated validation routing, and status synchronisation across systems.
  • API Integration & Data Mapping — Write custom API calls, parse JSON/XML payloads, and handle data transformation between systems of record. Manage authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys).
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting — Proactively monitor active Fusion scenarios, analyse run logs, troubleshoot execution errors, and implement error-handling mechanisms (automatic retries, alert notifications) to ensure high availability.
  • Performance Optimization — Optimize scenarios for high-volume transaction throughput while respecting API rate limits of connected systems. Implement backoff and concurrency management strategies.
  • Technical Documentation — Maintain clear documentation of all Fusion scenarios, data flows, integration mappings, and error-handling logic.
  • Collaborative Solutioning — Partner with Workfront Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical integration specifications.

 

What are we looking for?

Adobe Workfront Fusion — Advanced

  • Scenario architecture using Routers, Filters, Convergers, Aggregators (Array, Numeric, Text), and Iterators for complex multi-layered data structures.
  • Data Store management for caching, synchronisation state tracking, deduplication, and transactional logging.
  • Advanced error handling using Fusion directives (Resume, Ignore, Commit, Rollback, Break) to build resilient, self-recovering scenarios.
  • Expert use of the "Make an API Call" module to query the Workfront REST API (v15+) with complex search parameters, nested collection queries, and custom modifiers.
  • Fluency in Fusion functions: string manipulation (replace, split, substring), date parsing (parseDate, formatDate), array/collection operations (map, get, merge, flatten, keys).
  • Webhook design: instant triggers, scheduled polling, webhook verification, and asynchronous response handling.

Web & Integration Technologies

  • RESTful APIs, SOAP, HTTP request/response lifecycle, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, API Keys, Basic Auth, JWT).
  • JSON and XML manipulation, regex patterns, and conditional mapping logic.
  • Concurrency management, HTTP status code handling (429 rate-limiting), exponential backoff strategies.

Platform & Process

  • Solid understanding of Workfront's native capabilities: custom forms, object relationships (Projects, Tasks, Documents), and API data model.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with multi-cultural, distributed teams.
  • Systematic debugging and root-cause analysis skills for integration issues.
  • Fluent professional English (written and spoken).

Certifications

Required: Adobe Certified Professional — Workfront Fusion Developer (or equivalent). Candidates without certification may be considered if they can demonstrate equivalent hands-on expertise during the technical assessment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building custom Fusion connectors using the Adobe Workfront Fusion DevTool / Apps SDK for proprietary systems.
  • Programming experience in JavaScript (ES6+) or Python for advanced custom functions.
  • Background in Content Production, Creative Agencies, or MarTech/AdTech environments.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud integrations (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro with Workfront).
  • Knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) concepts, metadata standards, and taxonomy synchronisation.
