Job Summary


The Director of Marketing will lead the vision of L’Oreal Professionnel hair color in the US, driving the portfolio of brands and color marketing initiatives.  The Director has responsibility for achieving the annual budget plan and will oversee all go-to-market execution, channel marketing strategy and the creative execution of L’Oreal Professionnel’s color brands across all touchpoints. Additional responsibilities include leading and developing an all-star team of direct reports and ensuring their continued growth and development. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well in small teams and can influence cross functional teams.


Job Requirements

  • 7+ years brand management experience successfully guiding strategic marketing, branding, and product management within consumer goods/ beauty industry. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Hair Color knowledge highly preferred but not required.
  • Proven leadership skills including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members. 
  • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen required including experience with budgeting and P&L management. 
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas of the business enabling the successful achievement of initiatives across all brand categories.
  • Strong execution, leadership and consensus building/decision making skills. 
  • Ability to travel domestically periodically.


Judgment and Decision Making:

This position requires low level of supervision. An ideal candidate would be able to work autonomously to achieve strategic goals.  Additionally, the Director Marketing needs to have a proven track record of providing superb level of supervision and guidance to grow and develop a high performance team.

  1. Develop and ensure execution of strategic marketing plans to build profitability and grow market share; Identify and design business strategies to accomplish brand goals.


  1. Develop strategic Promotional Calendar through collaborative effort with category leaders to drive sales and maintain effective brand image and innovation.


  1. Oversee and manage the marketing budget and P&L category.


  1. Represent categories for cross-functional strategic and update meetings to include new product development, print and package, education, brand updates and presentations.


  1. Direct and ensure accurate forecasting of the brand / business.


  1. Develop and mentor managers, including performance reviews of the team.
