What You Will Learn:

Responsible for overall performance of the cell, both the assets and people, in the packaging department and all aspects related to achieving departmental objectives in Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Productivity, and Service.    

  • Coach and train employees at all levels within the cell to achieve departmental objectives. Manage the production workforce and hold employees accountable to achieve the plan and maximize the efficiencies of packaging operations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and implement L’Oréal safety, housekeeping, health and environmental programs.
  • Implement L’Oréal quality assurance procedures and observe “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMPs).
  • Lead productivity improvement teams and projects and organize material flow to eliminate losses and improve packaging operations.
  • Plan component inventories and maintain planning parameters to manage the inventory investment within budgeted levels.
  • Define the filling and processing schedule for the UP over a 3 month horizon, with high accuracy over a 2-4 week period.
  • Consider UP economic constraints and line and vessel availability in the schedule and adjust the schedule reactively as needed to maintain the short term plan.
  • Interface with Logistics and UP Director on production plan advancement and availability of labor.
  • Interface with Component Supply Planners on AC/RM availability and exceptions.
  • Interface with Industrial Quality on RM/AC/WIP/BULK/FG inspection priorities.
  • Interface with Logistics on call-off issues, call-off performance and new launches, providing labor and resource availability.
  • Where applicable, develop labor standards and operator workflows for new products.
  • Be a driving force in the definition of batch size and UP scrap factors.
  • Manage and implement all L’Oréal policies and practices including, but not limited to, the Corporation’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy, etc.
  • Maintain appropriate records and complete necessary reports in a timely manner.
  • May perform other duties and projects as required.

What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required, with a strong preference for engineering majors or business administration.
  • 5-8 years of previous supervisory experienced required in a manufacturing environment, preferably the cosmetics industry.
  • Computer skills to include experience with spreadsheets, pivot tables, presentations, graphics software and database management.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Must wear all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Visual/auditory acuity required to operate equipment and see/hear warning alarms.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience with SAP a plus.
